Please help me, lol. We have decided to change our original vacation plans this summer and go back home :cool1: But I can't decide where to stay this year. We absolutely love OKW but are considering staying somewhere different. Our available options are a dedicated 2 bedroom standard view at Kadani or at Jambo, a 2 br at OKW or a 1 br standard at Boardwalk or 1 br lake view at BLT.

Now my family consists of myself, DH, DD9 and DS6. We like the space and that is why we are looking at the 2br's but a 1br will work. What we really need to have at our resort is a counter service with simple options for the kiddies. DD is type 1 diabetic so we need to make sure there are options for her. Also a community hall...the kids LOVE all the activities at OKW.

Why am I confused....I am reading mixed reviews for Kadani, how large it is..etc. I haven't really looked much at BLT or Boardwalk..so please HELP! Lol

We LOVED Kidani, but there is no counter service so that will be an issue. It is large, but we always had excellent rooms there. Staying at Jambo would be better for your situation since they have Mara. We usually took our car over to Jambo if we wanted some counter service. We just stayed at BLT and LOVED it. There are plenty of dining options and how can you beat it being so close to MK. My dd and I have also stayed at BWV and LOVED that as well. (are you starting to see a pattern here lol) In fact, we tried to get that this next trip for a 2 BR but they had no availablity. They have plenty of dining options there and you are so close to DHS and Epcot that you can find something to eat anywhere. We are having our first stay at OWK this trip, so I can't help you on that. I know how hard it is trying to decide where to stay - good luck :thumbsup2

WE have stayed at BWV and BLT and like both resorts. The 1 bedroom at BLT has 2 bathrooms which is really nice with kids.

In terms of CS, I find that to be the one drawback of BWV. You really have only the Boardwalk Bakery and in order to get there, you have to go outside. It is not as convenient as going over the skybridge to the Contempo Cafe when at BLT. I like the offerings at the CR better myself.

In terms of AKV, if you want to be close to the CS option, then go with Jambo house and not Kidani as that is where it is located.

BLT is my favorite resort so I would go with the 1 bedroom there.

Good luck!!!

All three resorts have counter service issues. Kidani's counter service is at Jambo House, BLT's is at the Contemporary, and BWV has a couple of options on the Boardwalk or at the BC.

But compared to OKW, which the OP likes, what's the difference? You have to walk to Goods to Go or the Turtle Shack at OKW and you have to walk to get to any of these. Shouldn't be any kind of problem.

All three of your choices will have Community Halls. BLT is right next to the MK and has two rather nice pools for the kids to use (one at BLT and one at CR). AKV has two rather nice pools as well (one at JH and one at KV). BWV has two pools, one un-themed, and you are only a short walk or boat ride from Epcot and DHS. And there are a lot of great eating places when you combine all the Epcot resorts - Swan and Dolphin, YC, BC, BCV and BWI and BWV.

But at the BWV, in a one bedroom, you won't have the sleeper chair. Both BLT and OKW (where you are looking at a two bedroom) will have the sleeper chair in the living room. With your family of four and you like space, I'd skip the BWV unless you can get the two bedroom villa.

My personal choice would be a 2 bed at BWV(I realize this isnt one of your options)or the 2 bed at OKW. The size alone at OKW is worth it. I like the ambiance of BWV, closeness to Epcot and HS, restaurants around it, etc. And OKW in turn has peace and tranquility, parking at your door, etc. So both, for different reasons are up there at the top along with our home(and ultimate fave.)resort, VWL.

Weighing it all out, IMO, I would go OKW

There is a shuttle van that takes you directly from the lobby at Jambo to the lobby at Kidani and back. We all like the food options at Jambo, but I would stay at Kidani if you want a 1 bedroom because it has the second bath. There are plenty of activites, some for beads with a prize after you've accomplished what's needed.

Since you haven't tried AKV, that's the one I would pick.:goodvibes

Our available options are a dedicated 2 bedroom standard view at Kadani or at Jambo, a 2 br at OKW or a 1 br standard at Boardwalk or 1 br lake view at BLT.

I would eliminate BWV or BLT simply because of having to "sacrifice" the 2BR option. For us, it is a big difference in our vacation to have the 2BR for the four of us versus a 1BR. Big difference.

From there, I'd have to vote for AKV Jambo since you like to have a counter service handy. OKW would also work if you can get an HH area room reserved. I don't know if AKV Jambo has a Community Hall or not. I know that Kidani does.

But I'd still go with AKV Jambo just to try something different. I think your family would love the change of pace that AKV provides. OKW isn't going anywhere and you can always return there for future trips.

Yes Kidani and Jambo are large resorts, but no larger than OKW.

I love OKW the best but did enjoy a savannah view at AK! Seeing giraffes etc is a big plus if you enjoy animals! so visiting there sometime should be on the to-do list!
