So a little background. I am a recent Disney convert. My first trip was last September with my 13 year old son. I have been trying to figure out a way to go back from about the day we got home.

That trip was a result of adding some personal time onto a business trip that took me to Orlando. Interestingly enough my business trip this year is in LA so...... DISNEYLAND! :yay:

You would think that would be enough for me, but no, I have to have some WDW this year. I really want to visit to see the Christmas decorations. My son is saying that he doesn't want to go back until much later - like 2 years. No way I can wait that long. So I am planning to go by myself.

I am used to solo trips. I usually add on personal trips to some of my business trips and the family usually can't make it. I've done Arizona (Grand Canyon), Boston, NY, Chicago, Vancouver, Montreal on my own. Eating alone doesn't bother me. I won't say I prefer solo to having someone along, but I would rather go alone than miss the trip! And since the son hated EPCOT and I missed every country, I need to go alone to do exactly what I want.

So after that long and probably unnecessary intro, here are my questions -

Looking to narrow down the week to go. Trying to decide between the week after TGiving and the first week of Dec. I think I have read that Pop Warner is the first week so wondering if I should avoid that. How much does that impact the crowd level? Are all the decorations up by the week after TGiving?

Then I need to pick a resort. Leaning toward Moderate and trying to decide between POFQ and CSR. I stayed at CSR in Sept so would like to try something new, but am worried about bus service at POFQ. Also depending on the week I pick, does Pop Warner impact the resort decision? Any experience with either resort as a solo traveler?

TIA for any help.

I've gone the first week of December before (in 2010) & the crowds weren't too bad at all. The "Touring Plans" website is pretty good at predicting crowd levels. I go to WDW solo all of the time & I prefer to go solo now. All of the Holiday decorations should be up at that time, too. Don't miss the Osborne Family lights at DHS- it is one of the best things I've seen at WDW. I'm not sure about Pop Warner & the resorts, but I'm guessing the value resorts will be more crowded at that time.
