Heading to WDW this year and am starting to think about ADR's. It is just my daughter and I so we want to only try some places we haven't been before.

I would love to know some opinions on the ones I have chosen as well as my list of options

Definitely going to do
Yachtsman's Steakhouse
Jiko

Want to do 3 of the following (but are open to others as well)
Tony's Town Square
Chefs de France
Kona Cafe
Flying Fish
Teppan Edo

I have been to the Kona for breakfast but other than that, have been to none of these restaurants.

Any opinions on my two definites and any help choosing my other 3 would be appreciated...

I like Jiko; Yachtsman is okay, nothing special.

Out of your maybe list, Flying Fish is my favorite restaurant of those offered up on the dining plan. I like Chefs for lunch, not so much for dinner. The other 3 are okay.

We did Chefs for lunch and enjoyed it.:thumbsup2 You didn't say if you were on the DDP. I would pay OOP for Chefs at lunch, but I thought it was too pricey if paying OOP for dinner. The 3 course lunch would be a good deal if paying OOP( we had free DDP last time)

Flying Fish is AMAZING, a must do for us every trip. Teppen Edo is a lot of fun too!

I'd go with these 3:
Kona Cafe
Flying Fish
Teppan Edo

Maybe change out Teppan Edo with Chefs if you usually go to Japanese Steakhouses at home. The one in Disney is nothing different. A fun experience, and good food, but nothing special.

Jiko should be great- I've never seen a bad review (although I haven't been there.) We did Yachtsman once. It was fine, but nothing to get excited about. If paying OOP, I'd rather go over to Shulas at the Dolphin- our steak there was excellent!

Jiko is awesome, good choice!

Chefs de France is pretty poor - only go if you want to pay big prices for boxed frozen food quality.

Kona was just ok. It wasn't bad, but it's not anywhere I'd rush back to. The bread with honey macadamia butter made a wonderful light breakfast the next morning. :rotfl:

Flying Fish was excellent. Everything I tried there was fantastic. One of the best steaks I've ever eaten.

We tried Teppan Edo for the first time on our last trip. It is now a family favorite. The food was good and the "show" was fun. We have lots of hibachi places in our hometown, but we never made an effort to go. This was a fun family experience.

We also enjoyed a great lunch at Kona Cafe.

Happy eating!

Another vote for Flying Fish, we loved it!

We like Kona for dinner. It is a restaurant that we do every visit. My DS loves the bread and butter. Really good entrees and yummy desserts. We have also had really good service every time. :rotfl:

I have to agree about Kona and Teppen Edo. We visited both on our last trip to Disney in November for the first time. We really really enjoyed both and I'll have to make sure we get ADRs for both the next time we visit. Agreed, the bread and butter at Kona was very very good. We had no problem finishing the loaf. :) We have never been to a Japanense restaurant before so TE was very enjoyable for food, show and even eating with strangers was nice. Who doesn't like to talk to new people??? Haha. Really both were very good. Have a great trip and enjoy picking out someplace new to eat!!!!!!

We LOVED Yachtsman Club and thought Jiko's was ok.
DH and I thought that Chef's was ok for lunch but a forgetable meal in general.
We would definitely do Teppen Edo again. The show was fun and the food was lighter and a lot less greasy in comparison to other Disney food.

I think you would be happy with any of your other choices. Of them, our family prefers Chefs de France (we do this on almost every trip), and Teppan Edo.

You'll love the Yachtsman and Jiko. We've had wonderful meals at both. DH and I went to Jiko without the kids a few years ago. The leftovers didn't last 5 minutes after we returned to our room. They both had a really good late night snack. ::MinnieMo
