Ok, so I am debating between a few places to make ADR's. Some of these might be out of the ordinary, but that's the appeal. I can go to any regular old restaurant anytime I want, but while at Disney, it's the experience that I am looking for....so, that being said, here are my top contenders:

Mama Melrose's at DHS
Tony's Town Square at MK
Donald's Safari Brkfst at Tusker House AK
50's Prime Time Cafe at DHS
Hollywood and Vine at DHS
Sci-Fi Theater at DHS
Cap'n Jacks at MK

Out of those, what would you recommend?

Just a note:
Cap'n Jacks is at Downtown Disney, not Magic Kingdom.

I've eaten at Mama Melrose, Tony's, and Sci Fi.

All 3 had food that was just OK ... I can't even remember what I ordered, which is not typical for me ( I remember every meal :rotfl2: )

I would say that you could probably get Italian food at your local restaurant, just as good as MM and Tony's. I would recommend Sci Fi, because it was an unusual dining experience, and just plain fun!!! :yay:

Yes, Sci Fi is great fun and the milk shakes are very good. I have not had breakfast at Tuskar house but the lunch buffet is really good and the goods loved having so much to choose from.

Honestly MK isn't known for the BEST restaurants. Don't get me wrong but at MK I look for character interaction with the best food which would be Crystal Palace..IMHO. Tony's is just OK for the $$$.
At DHS I really like 50's Prime TIme. You will get GREAT atmosphere and pretty good home-style cooked food..

If you're going for the experience, then Sci-Fi and 50's PT would be at the top of my list (out of the ones you listed). I still love 50's, even though the past 2 times, the waiter/waitress didn't go out of their way to make us feel like small children (which is great, btw!), but the atmosphere is cool. Sci-Fi-I thought the food was ok, but the atmosphere is very different--just make sure you ask for a car that's not right by the door! :)

We just did Sci Fi and Tonys a few weeks ago, both for the first time, and we loved them so much I booked them for our June trip

I would like to try Tony's even though it doesn't always get very good reviews. Mama Melrose's looks pretty, too.

I didn't like Sci-Fi, but if you are looking for a "different" experience, it certainly is. I always look at places for the experiences, also! We just didn't care for that particular theming as I thought we would. Worth a try, for sure, though.
