You guys and gals were all helpful last year when I was planning my World trip with the DW and DS and DD. DW has the monies put aside again and wants to go next summer after DS & DD finish school.

Here's my issue:

Although it's an experience like no other, it is a LOT of money. I'd prefer not shelling out that much cash to spend a large majority if time waiting in line. I'm trying to convince her to go 01/10 thru 01/16. DS & DD school is closed for 2 days for some reason or another so they'd only be missing 3 days of school. Crowd levels look to be 6,6,6,7,6,6,5.

Other options are 02/16 to 02/14, 04/13 to 04/21, or 06/15 to 06/23.

What do you all think?

Thanks in advance!

First choice is January...the weather is cool and the parks are not busy at all.

Second choice would be to go in April...after Easter, the weather is beautiful and I dont think the crowds are too bad.

I would never go around a holiday week or the end of June to mid of August, the crowds are to heavy

Invest in Tour Guide Mike, who sponsers this board. We haven't used it yet, but we are thinking about using it if we go down during the summer again. But I've heard many other people praising it. He has touring tips so you will spend as little time as possible in lines. He has a whole plan that will give you the best time possible in the parks. And it's only $20.

If your looking for minimal crowds then January is the time to go, but you will be dealing with the MLK long weekend then so there will still be crowds but not like the summer. You have 2/16 to 2/14 not sure what you mean by that but if you mean 2/6 - 2/14 then I'm thinking that may not be bad either. It sounds like it's too early for spring breakers, but I'm not sure. Presidents Day isn't until the 19th. As far as 4/13-4/21 goes, the first part of the trip you will still have the Easter crowds

, but I have to say this is my favorite time of year to go because of the beautiful weather and everything is in bloom.

6/15-6/23 you are dealing with the summer crowds:crowded:, although the north (at least the northeast) children are typically still in school, many schools in the south are out by now. Good luck

Thanks for the responses.
GIOny - my bad...I meant 02/16 to 02/24 (typical winter break from school).

I've almost got her sold on 01/13 through 01/21.
The fact that it's $1,500 cheaper (mostly in airfare) is helping my cause.
The downside is that SplashMountain is scheduled to be closed.

I'm still pushing for January though!

Again, thanks to all!

Thanks for the responses!
Looks like we're heading down 01/13 through 01/21.

One last question.....
Since SplashMountain will be closed then, is it too cold for the waterparks?
We're coming down from MA, so anything over 60deg will feel balmy to us by then.

Thanks again!

It really depends, I went one year in January when we sat out by the pool and it was very comfortable

but the next day you could be wearing your long johns:cold: . The average high temp. for the Orlando area (in January) is the low 70's. I don't think I would bank on the water parks, is it possible to add that onto your ticket after you get there and see if you want to brave it??

We were at WDW the second week in January '05 and wore shorts all week (and this is from a cold natured Southerner). However, I took my GD back this past January (2nd-8th) and while warm the first two days, we almost froze for the rest of our trip. I'm talking coat, scarf, jeans/sweats, and gloves weather. Anyway, I love going in January. The only down side is you need to pack for all kinds of weather as it can change day to day.

Good choice, love january crowds and weather. We've got to the water parks both times in january but we are from the UK so anything above 65 is good enough for us :rotfl2: Also second the Tour Guide Mike idea, didn't wait for anything and that was the first week in August, well worth the money :thumbsup2

Again, thanks to all!
I'm about to book 01/13 thru 01/21 at the Coranado.
I'm not planning on the waterparks, as I hope the waterslide at the pool will suffice.

Just about 100 days away (+/-).....
