Ok, I need some help. I have two reservations on hold with the AP rate: POFQ(standard view) = $665.50 for seven nights.
WL (woods view) = $1046 for seven nights.

I mentioned the prices because price is always an issue. Not because WL is out of our budget, but because if we go the cheaper route, we can spend the difference ($381) on other areas. Ok, so here's my situation. My wife and I have been to Disney many times together. In July, we are taking our first trip with our 15 month old son. Also, my parents are coming. So, it will be 5 adults and 1 little guy. We are planning to get two rooms. The prices listed are per room. My question is about the big differences between these two resorts or between moderate and deluxe resorts. We have stayed offsite a bunch of times. The Xmas before last, we stayed at the All Stars and we are hooked on onsite properties now. The All Stars were fine for our short trip then. But now, we have different needs. We would like to have a nice resort for our son. Also, we anticipate spending a lot more time at the resort for some down time. We spend a lot of time at all of the parks. MK, Epcot and MGM mainly. We'll spend a day at AK. I am really torn. I really think WL is beautiful. I've never been to POFQ, but I hear it's nice. Also, when you respond, please tell me if you've stayed at both, or if you have stayed at one of the resorts in question. Thank you so much. I am trying to make my little boy's first Disney Vacation as wonderful as possible.

If it were me, I'd go with the POFQ. It's a wonderful resort, and with the savings, just think of all the "extras" you can do in the parks!

We just went through this exact dilemma yesterday. We're staying for 10 nights in August, and I really wanted to stay at WL, but the only thing available for our dates was woods view ($134/night + tax). I booked it, then called back and changed to POFQ for $84/night + tax. Perhaps if we weren't staying for as many nights, but with 10 nights, DH said he just couldn't justify spending an extra $50/night.

We've never stayed at POFQ, and the kids are really excited about the pool area, so I'm starting to get excited about it as well.

I'd choose POFQ if I were you, but I'm a POFQ fan and I've never stayed at any deluxe resorts. Either way, you can't go wrong! :teeth:

Let me give you some advice.

I am HOOKED on WL...They have a great kiddie pool for the baby and you can take the boat to MK..

I mention this because if you are taking a stroller, you don't have to fold it up on the boat to MK, you can just roll right on and off. ( I am guessing you will spend alot of time in MK with a 15 month old. ) If you are not taking a stroller, then I guess PO would be good.

PO Rooms are a bit different too..you don't have a bathroom counter in the new rooms, just 2 pedestal sinks. Double beds are in most rooms ( WL has Queens), and if you want adjoining rooms, you need to ask in advance.
Here is a bit more info
The WL have interior corridors and you can move from one end of the resort to the other inside. No getting wet during those our nasty Florida storms.

Just MHO!

EDIT: WL also has balconies in every room...A big must for me as I like to sit and relax..makes me feel less confined!

This is a win/win delema! No matter what you pick, you'll have a great time!!!

However, you said you are planning to spend a lot of time at the hotel or in your room. If that's the case, I'd go with WL. You can sit in the lobby and rock in the rocking chairs in front of the fire place. They have 2 restaurants and a snack/counter service place near the pool. They have a kiddie pool and the main pool has a slide, and two hot tubs. Boat to MK is fun and fast. Inside hallways are nice, too.

Don't get me wrong, the POFQ is great, and you'd be happy there. But for the kind of trip you've described, I think you'll be even happier at the WL.
