DH and I have an adults only trip to WDW planned for Dec. 7-11. We're supposed to stay at the Swan. I have all our ADR's including the Candlelight Processional.

BUT.....now I'm worried its going to be very crowded with Mousefest and Pop Warner, and that no hotel rooms are available for that time.

I'm thinking of changing it to Dec. 15-19. I can change airline ressies with no penalty. Do you think I can still get a CP package for that time? Would you change your dates or leave them as they are?

THX!!!

December 7 through 11 isn't supposed to be that bad at all. According to the crowd calendar on Touring Plans Dot Com, only Saturday should be bad. The rest of the time, crowds will be moderate to low.

So, I'd leave things as-is.

I wouldn't change either, especially since it's Adults only, it will make getting through the parks easier.
We are going Dec 1-10th and almost changed when we heard about all the goings on that week, but decided to continued as planned and have a Fantasmic trip anyway. Friends of ours went last year the same time and had no trouble.

Enjoy no matter what you decide :thumbsup2

I wouldn't change it either because the crowds are going to build the closer you get to Christmas. So I think you'll be better off with the earlier dates.

DH and I did early December in 2004 (from around the 2nd to the 18th, I think it was). Crowds were low during the first part of the trip, but the parks were absolutely packed for our last 4-5 days, as it got closer to the holidays.

Phanton28 is right. I'll be there solo, leaving the day before you get there, and while I'm there I'll be dealing with Regis and Kelly at the MK for two days, and the begining of Pop Warner (and from what I can tell, they have Monday off? Does that mean they'll be practicing, or in the parks?). However, I've been at busier times solo, and it's a whole different world.

As two adults, you can slip in and out of many places much more easily; while you may wish to visit some characters, you don't have kids who want to wait in a line for an hour for their one chance at meeting their favorite, you aren't going to have to worry as much about "potty breaks", LOL, etc.

As long as you can master the art of silent negotiation (i.e., you and your travel partner can get through a crowd together with a few head nods instead of a long conversation), you will never have a problem. One thing you must remember is that when people talk about the parks being busy this time of year, it's all relative : the absolute busiest day in early December (up until Hell-week, er, Christmas) is still slower than the busiest day in July.

Two other things to keep in mind are that a large portion of the resort guests are NOT there for the parks during that period. They will be around, but a decent portion of them are there for other activities. So, food courts will be busy. Lines in the parks for rides, not as much. The second thing to remember is that these people generally travel in packs - as two adults (hopefully with park hoppers?) you can steer clear much more easily than if you had a larger group or children who were dead-set on going on a certain ride at a certain time.

If you've got your ADR's all set, I think you will be just fine. I'll be warming the place up for you, LOL.
