Sajetto, I did a little checking for you. Princess Bride has two lines of gold tiaras. The regular gold tiaras do not have a 14K overlay... they are "gold-toned" so you would be safe with them. The more expensive "museum quality" tiaras are 14K though, so you would want to steer clear of them. After seeing the detailing of your dress in the close-up, I thought another tiara might look better... here's a link to the tiara on their site:

and here's the pic of it, along with their suggested jewelry and style numbers... all in gold-tone rather than pure gold so that you won't break out! You might be able to find a prettier necklace and earring set to go with it at your local department store (Monet and Givenchy both make gold-free sets that are lovely, and Carolee might as well), but I think you'd have a hard time finding a tiara that goes with the embroidery of your dress better. Look at the flowers on both!

Did you see that the top and bottom ones of those you just pictured are listed on the Chic Creations site as "gold plated"? If you are allergic to gold, they will make you break out. You need to look for ones that are described as rhodium or gold-toned to avoid problems with a gold allergy. ~Ev

I don't think a tiara will be a problem since it will be on my hair. I don't have a problem with gold unless it is a ring or earring that directly rubs my skin.

I am also extremely allergic to Nickel - i dont just break out in bumps - if i wore a necklce with Nickle in it my neck would swell up and i wouldnt be able to breathe properly.(I cant even play pool as the green felt contains nickel and it makes my hands swell up!)


FYI just incase you buy any jewellery from the UK anything that is labelled as gold should not contain any other metal.

As im fair skinned white gold or platinum doesnt suit me so all my jewellery is gold - but none of it contains nickel.

Go with what makes you feel beautiful. If you like the silver better, go with it. You have silver beading, so it should be fine. We went about the jewelry with a little different viewpoint for Kate's wedding. We bought heirloom quality jewelry (Bijoux Givenchy) with the idea that jewelry was one thing she could pass down that her own daughter might actually want to wear one day. Dress styles change so drastically, but classic bridal jewelry hasn't changed a tremendous amount over time. So, we had a different goal than most in selecting hers. Your dress is varied enough, you could choose gold, silver or simply crystals, any of which would look lovely. Good luck! ~Ev
