180 adr day coming up, we're planning on doing the DDP, and because of scheduling, looks like we're going to have an extra TS entitlement, so looks like we should book a signature restaurant.

About us-
Family of 4, kids will be 9 and 6yo. Pretty adventurous eaters, generally well behaved. Staying at BLT/ 10 nights. been to WDW multiple times, last 2 years ago. Tend to go to character meals for our TS. Only signature we've been to years ago was CRT which we really didn't like (rushed service, food not great). Pretty much any of the other signatures is on the table (in parks or resorts or DS). Probably would not want BoG dinner (have been there for dinner before it was 2 credits, and will likely book there for lunch and/or dinner).

Thanks!

If you don't mind heading the Animal Kingdom Lodge, Jiko is a fantastic restaurant. If you want to stay closer I really like Narcossee's at the Grand Floridian.

Well I think Jiko is the best restaurant on WDW property but if the menu is to adventurous for you have you considered the California Grill. Pick the right time and you get spectacular views of the sun setting over the park and all in all the view is almost worth the trip in itself.

This is why this subject is...well...subjective. I don't think Jiko is a kid joint. Just didn't scream "bring kids" to me.

I'm going to suggest Tiffins. Very kid friendly, food is slightly adventurous and different than what you find at home. There is a lot to look at within the restaurant with young kids.

I think CG is pretty amazing too but you can enjoy the great views of MK at BLT.

You are probably right I started brining my daughter when she was 5 though. And with kids CG may be a lot better.

We love Morimoto Asia. At lunch it is only one credit and at dinner it is two. We have been about 4 times in the past three years during our various trip and it NEVER disappoints!!!!

We typically do a lot of character TS too and are planning on Cali Grill for our first signature with our kids (they'll be 9 and 7 on our next trip).

The first problem I see is that you wrote that you have "AN" extra TS entitlement means indicates that you only one 1 TS credit. With that being said, all Signature Restaurants require 2 TS credits. So, unless you rework your schedule and meals, you won't have enough TS credit to do a Signature Restaurant.

So, looking at restaurant where you can use your extra TS entitlement, I would recommend:

Boma
Sanaa --- great to sit close to the animals
'Ohana --- great restaurant for the entire family and a much better place to view fireworks compared to California Grill
Yak & Yeki Restaurant
Rose & Crown --- one of our favorites plus if you time it correctly you can sit and watch IllumiNation
Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant --- another of our all-time favorites plus there is live Irish entertainment

One of the most memorable times at Disney, according to my two boys who are now 20/23, was our dinner at the Restaurant Marrakesh in the Moroccan Pavilion in Epcot. They were both preteens our first time, our second time a bit older. But they both said it was one they enjoyed the most. For what it's worth my wife and I went back in January and still totally enjoyed it.

I think OP meant they would use their extra credit to upgrade a 1-credit meal to a signature.

By saying you have an extra TS credit, I assume that you ar elooking at making one of your 1 TS into a 2TS credit meal? If that is correct, then:
Our favorites California Grill, late enough for fireworks. For adventurous eaters, Jiko is wonderful.
With the ages of your kids, Hoop de Do is a great choice.

If that is wrong and you are looking for a 1 TS credit:
Sanaa is really good.
O'hana is hit and miss
Raglan Road when the band and dancers are there

OP here. Yes, we have one day that we are not going to be dining at wdw, so we have 1 extra TS to add to the existing TS credit that we planned on using another day. Sounds like Hoop de do is a contender, as well as CG. I'm also curious about tiffens. Thanks for all of the ideas!

I'm on a self imposed "mission" to try all the Signatures and by the end of the summer should have been to 9 out of the 12. I say should have because the rest of my traveling party are in the world getting ready for a 5:40 PM ADR @ AP but I'm still in NYC.....sigh. Ah well.

Anywho we take the kiddos (currently aged 9 and 12.5) to the "Siggies" and they've enjoyed those meals.

DGD's current fave in this category is Jiko's or Flying Fish. Grandnephew preferred the Boathouse. They all love HDDR (that's tomorrow night's ADR) but it's not a signature restaurant although it is a 2 credit meal.

We are taking my girls (age 6 and 9) to Narcoossee's and maybe Artist Point in August. I'm contemplating booking either an in-room babysitter or the Pixar Play Zone for the Artist Point night though.

California Grill is loud enough for kids and they have pizza.
