help me choose a restaurant at epcot/epcot resort area!

would you mind telling me what you had?

since we're buying the DDE card, i budgeted for our meals to see how much i'd need in total. spoodles was estimated at around $60. we were gonna order a couple of appetizers and an entree and split it all, plus some alcohol. anyway, i don't think i can do chefs de france on $60 and be happy with what i get. and i'm just not impressed with coral reef's menu. so i'm rethinking spoodles. i've changed my mind now like 50 times!!!! :headache:

Sure! We were there on the DDP, using 3 adult TS credits & 1 child TS credit....my boys were 11 & 9. The DDP gave an appetizer as well as dessert too. I don't get the impression that you are going with kids so I'll skip the 9 year olds food...just say it was kid's dinner & her loved it enough to want to go back again!

TS 1: Red Snapper & Margherita Flatbread (both really good)
TS 2: Calamari (great) & Rigatoni (good but nothing special)
TS 3: Beef Kebabs (Med rare, cooked perfectly) & Mediterranean Dips (Really great!!)

For drinks we all had virgin strawberry daiquiri's (except me who paid OOP for the real thing!!)...we all loved these! For dessert, we shared some Brulee (delicious!) & chocolate mousse (eh...ok) & than took with us a very large platter of cut up fresh fruit.

Our bill, minus alcohol but plus tip, tax, etc, came to $160.71.

I think $60 for two might be a bit tough. Main courses are all around $20 + tax & tip will put you at $50ish....no booze & maybe split a dessert....you could hit the $60 mark.

Anyway, again...recommendations are really hit & miss as they are pretty subjective! We don't tend to eat out a whole lot so we really enjoy doing DW with nice dinners every night. We do tend to look for the positives & downplay any negatives so that we always come out feeling like we got great value!! Spoodles was just a really great place for us & out of twelve restaurants we ate at last trip, it falls into all of our top three!

I know what it's like to waffle back & forth on an ADR but either way, no matter where you pick, it will be great!!

thanks for all the info! i'm still pondering! why is deciding on a restaurant so difficult?!?!!!

what we'd do if we went to spoodles is split some stuff. probably the calamari ($9.49), margherita flatbread ($9.99) and the lemon garlic shrimp linguine ($18.99). so that's roughly $39 before tax/tip. add in $15 or so for drinks and that brings it up to roughly $55. we probably won't do dessert because we're planning on visiting beaches and cream that day and that's all the dessert we'll need! we're not big dessert-eaters anyway. so just add the tax to that and it will hopefully stay around $60. i don't have to worry about adding the tip because i have the DDE card, which will take 20% off and that's your tip right there.

thanks again for your help!

if it is just DW and I we would chose Chefs de France. Good service, good food 4 trips in a row. If French isn't your cup of tea i would go with the Rose & Crown as that is delicious comfort food (since you already ruled out Garden Grill)
