Wise DIS-ers, I could use your help. I'm planning a trip to DLR in the last week October, but I can't decide on a Good Neighbour hotel/resort. There are so many to choose from!!! I'm traveling solo, will be at DLR three or 4 nights, and am looking to maximize my time at the parks. Anaheim Fairfield and the Candy Cane Inn are attractive because of their proximity. (I've stayed the the Fairfield before.) The price points of the Howard Johnson and the Motel 6 Anaheim Maingate are also attractive, but I know nothing about these hotels. The rest are all around the same price, approximately $1,000 for 4 nights. Can you help me choose? Can you help me eliminate any of the options? TIA

I would say all of those you listed a re great choices. Each have strong and weak points.

As you are solo, the FFI is great option as you will not be spending much time in the hotel. FFI meets my needs as the beds are good, the rooms are quiet and sheets are good. No free breakfast and the Pizza Hut Express is the only on-site food.

Candy Cane has more of an "eye appeal" but it's slightly further away. I hear great things about it. Free breakfast

HoJo is great for families, based on my readings.

Motel 6 will be basic (and cheaper) but I have not had great luck in many, but this one may be nicer than the average.

TechGuy, thanks for the feedback. (Sorry I didn't respond sooner. Where have I been?) We think the same way, I think: FFI meets the requirements without being too expensive. Thanks again.

Fairfield Inn sounds like a good choice. Others to look into would be Camelot, Desert Inn, Tropicana if you want to be super close.

I have stayed all over south harbor blvd...I really like the Tropicana inn, and I have stayed at the best western the non suite one. they are both super close to the park and have nice rooms.

The Candy Cane is super clean, family run Boutique Motel. The linens are high quality, and I love the Plantation Shutters in each room.
They are small, I recommend the Deluxe size even for one person.
The pool area is Beautiful, and the Cont breakfast is above average and you can eat pool side.
They also have fresh hot coffee in the lobby every morning at 6am, before the breakfast starts. They offer a nice AAA discount if you are a member, and have a dedicated shuttle if your feet are tired at the end of the day...

Fairfield Inn is my second choice on Harbor.

Have a Blast!

I am a major advocate for Park Vue Inn, there is free parking and breakfast and it is at the crosswalk to Disneyland, we loved the breakfast, my kids loved the pool and they re did all their rooms I think last year, it was clean and we never had a problem, it is a motel with exterior corridors about $160/night

I'm with Luulu 1999! We just stayed last week at Park Vue Inn and loved it! Very clean, friendly staff, pool was nice, free internet & breakfast too! I highly recommend this motel & you can't get any closer to Disneyland. I reserved on-line & paid $154 a night in June! I thought that was great.

$1000 for 4 nights at the hotels across the street seems high to me. I think you should be able to find a room for well under $200 a night, especially off-peak. If all you're looking for is a place to sleep I'd keep shopping, or at least reserve something cancellable and keep checking the rates.

I've stayed at the Tropicana and BW Park Place Inn, and Desert Inn and Suites. All were fine. I've give the Tropicana and BWPPI the edge in terms of proximity, comfort and "niceness". But honestly, all three were fine.

Oooops. I haven't checked this in a while. Sorry for the price confusion. The rates I gave before included ticket media. Thanks for the other suggestions. I'm still deciding...
