HELP! I have a room booked at the Disneyland Hotel and also one with a park view at HOJO. Please someone help me decide which is best. I don't really care about the cost, it just seemed that the HOJO had easier access. My husband and I will be there for only one night and want to get as much of the Disney experience as possible so any help that you can give would be greatly appreciated!

You can't go wrong with either hotel, but given that your main criteria is experiencing Disney to the fullest, I would vote for the Disneyland Hotel. I haven't personally timed and compared the walking distance from the two hotels, but they're about equal. Even if the Disneyland Hotel were a little bit farther, the walk through Downtown Disney first thing in the morning on your way to the parks and late at night to get back to the hotel again more than makes up for it. You will be surrounded by Disney for your entire stay if you choose the Disneyland Hotel. Not that HoJo is on the other side of the city, but you would have to cross the street and step back into reality to get to it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for HoJo. We will be at the Grand Californian this trip but plan to stay at HoJo for the next one. In fact, I still have reservations at HoJo for this trip that I need to cancel. Just sounds to me like the Disneyland Hotel will better meet what you're looking for this trip if cost really isn't a factor :flower:

You are probably going to get a lot of differing answers on this one. So I will give you my opinion which like all opinions is based solely on my personal preference and experience! I would choose the Disneyland Hotel. If cost was an issue I would say the HoJo but you said it isn't. The rooms at the DLH are very nicely furnished and oversized. The grounds at the DLH are also beautiful and the pool area is wonderful. I just really enjoy continuing the magic after my time at the parks is over. They offer amenities such as room service, bell service, valet parking and other things you would associate with a 4 star hotel versus a 2 or 3 star (I have seen HoJo rated both ways). I find the walk to the parks about the sime time wise, between 10-15 minutes depending on how fast you walk and how you hit the light (this is only applicable to the HoJo). The walk to the DLH however is much more pleasant since you are walking up Downtown Disney as opposed to a busy street. Also, you can take the monorail from Tomorrowland and be just a two minute walk to the DLH. When my DH and I went just the two of us it was so nice staying there, having dinner at DTD and then having a short walk to the hotel. Another wonderful perk to staying at the DLH is the charging privledges. It is so nice to whip out the little card they give you and charge all of your meals etc on one thing. Then you get one statement at the end of your stay. We don't even carry our credit cards in the park, just a little cash for the snack carts. You can also have your packages delivered to the hotel if you stay onsite. I truly love the DLH, find the rooms to be nicer and it seems easier to get back and forth to. I find my stays there more of a resort feel, where I am not leaving the magic behind when I return to my hotel. That said, the HoJo is also very nice, has large spacious rooms and nice grounds and pool area as well as a very helpful staff. You probably can't go wrong with either decision.

Hands down Disneyland Hotel, even with the bad experience I just encountered there :rotfl: You're there for a night, do it, you'll love being right in it all. Plus DTD is great fun to walk through!
