Here's the thing, we are on the dining plan and are planning on aving dinner on a non-park day.

I noticed they added new TS restaurants on the plan and I have no idea which to choose. We have already been to pHollywood, and wouldn't mind going again if it turns out to be one of your recommendations.

I guess Captain Jack is out of the question since all of your reviews have been pretty much against it. I also read in the UG that Wpuck is quite noisy....how bad is it actually? we experienced the noise at PH, is it similar? And BTW, which WP is on the plan, the express, café or dining room on the upper level.

Which would you recommend? We are 4 adults, 2 DD 9 and 13.

TIA!

Oh my - DH and I are definitely NOT against Capt Jack's! We had a wonderful meal there on our last trip! In fact, DH insists on a PS there for our upcoming trip!
EVERY restaurant will have people who love it and those who don't. There's no way to know in advance where you will be seated, (next to a prime window location - or - next to the kitchen or a boisterous group). There is no way to know if your server is having a great day, or a not-so-great day. And, every menu has a variety of choices, and there is certainly no accounting for taste when it comes to food. Please don't discount a restaurant without having tried it yourself.
Here's an example: DH and I had the most memorable dinner EVER at Portobello Yacht Club. We ate early (5:30) and sat next to a window in a room with just a few other couples. A very romantic atmosphere. We ordered the little wood-fired pizzas as an appetizer and we are STILL talking about them. The entire experience, from our table location to the service and the food was awesome. Obviously, PYC was on the top of our list for our next trip! Whoa! WHAT a different experience we had the next time. I won't go into the gory details, but it's up there as one of our WORST vacation meals. You just never know.

I believe the WP express is CS and WP cafe is TS. Just remember that it says that there will be a surcharge added to some menu items at WP cafe. Not sure why? This is why I'm not going there. I don't want to be limited with our choices.

I was going to try Cap n' Jacks, but then they added Alfredo's in Epcot. I picked that, but I would give them a try.

We haven't been overly impressed by any of the DTD places. Earl of Sandwich we have not tried yet. The last time we did Planet Hollywood for the second time and was disappointed in that again. We just may do McD's this year!

If you are up for trying Cuban food, do Bongos. We have done it twice and loved it both times.

Earl of Sandwich is a great place for a quick sandwich. A lot of Disney execs come over from Team Disney to have lunch there. A few months ago, I had lunch next to Al Weiss :)

However, I have to say that the Portobello Yacht Club is my all time favorite restaurant. I've eaten there twice, and both times the food was culinary perfection. I got full halfway through, but my steak was just SO good I had to finish it... a mistake I wish I didn't do, because then I didn't have enough room for desert!! lol

I have to second Earl of Sandwich. We were very suprised at how good the sandwiches were....and reasonably priced. I am not sure how Earl equates with the Magic Your Way dining...but highly recommended. DH and I both ate there for under $12....and had to walk off the full feeling after we ate.

Another DTD restaurant that we like is Fulton's Crab House. Great Seafood on an old river boat. Again, I am not sure if this part of the Magic Your way Plan.

While the wait staff at Fulton's can make or break the atmosphere, we have always enjoyed our meals here, both lunch and dinner. We usually dine here at least once during our trips.

We also have dined at WP's Cafe and loved everything they serve. Wait staff has been quite nice, too.

Portebella YC has been hit or miss for us. As a former poster mentioned...once great, second awful. We will try again, however.

Earl of Sandwich was quite good and priced right. Just don't think it's fair to compare ES with a fine dining restaurant like PYC. Both are great in their own category.

Good look and enjoy!

PS We'll have to try Bongo's next time based on Trinity721's recommendation!
