I am so excited we have finally decided to book an Escape wedding and now we need to choose our date!:love:

We are really torn, heres a little background info and some pros and cons for each date any tips or help & suggestions would be appreciated!

we want weather nice enough for an outdoor dessert party, but we do not want the parks to be crowded or our guest to have to spend a fortune for a hotel.

I will graduate from school in May, will have to take the nursing boards over the summer, and then will be trying to find a new job in the fall as a nurse. I will go back to my old job for the summer/fall until I find a nursing job. I can always give my two weeks and quit the old job in the fall if I need time off for a wedding, and at that point should be getting into nursing field anyway.

June 2010-
pros* immediately after I graduate from nursing school, and I could just push out my return to work date to July 1, which would give me a whole month off, and then it would be done and I would not have to worry about planning and trying to get time off from a new job cons*BUSY time with school will be hard to plan out wedding details while taking final exams and graduating etc, will need to prepare for nursing boards will be stressed out and probably look tired and haggard lol

Sept 2010- pros* low crowds
cons-could be very hot & humid , nothing special in Sept

Oct 2010- pros* weather should be nice I think? gives me plenty of time to plan, MNSSHP which I have always wanted to see cons*hotels a little more pricey, not sure about weather and crowds?

Dec 2010 (early Dec) - Pros* holiday decorations, MVMCP, The Osborne Spectacle of lights we love cons* could be cold and or windy, hard time for people to travel so close to the holidays?

Spring 2011- pros* lots of time to plan (been planning forever already)and we could save up more money by then to do a little extra cons* sick of waiting! And should have started a job as a nurse by then, might be hard to get time off

right now I am leaning towards Oct or Dec (we got engaged at Disney on a Dec vacation)

We got married the Friday after Thanksgiving, it worked out great for us. We had Thanksgiving at home, had the best man and some family come to Phoenix the Saturday after, then all flew down together on Tuesday, did the license Wednesday, rehersal & dinner Thursday and got married on Friday. Spent the day with family on Saturday and everyone else left on Sunday. It was early enough that most holiday stuff at home wasn't going on, we didn't miss parties at work and such, but the parks and hotels were decked out and beautiful. Plus, once home we knew in a couple weeks we would have some time off for Christmas and I used that for thank you notes, announcements, and that kind of stuff.

my vote is for December! The weather is gorgeous (not a heavy rain month) and you get all the holiday decorations.

I was married the first week in December last year and it worked out great. It isn't super close to Christmas but close enough. And the early half of December is still Value Season

Would you want to get married on your anniversary in december? The christmas decorations are a ton of fun in december. But in October they have the halloween party which is sooo much fun.

If you do the december wedding you are very likely to have lots of xmas decorations in your pictures - just something to keep in mind.

My vote would probably be October. But either of those months would be fine.

I love December at Disney, there's just an extra bit of "magic". :) (It's also the month we're getting married!)

Whatever date you decide consider June 1st through Nov. 1st is hurricane season.

HTH :goodvibes

I voted late September. Late September is still warm, with low crowds and the last couple of years they do have the halloween parties. If you time it right you can even get the start of the food and wine festival. Because the crowds are so low, the last few years - at least 4 or 5 - they offer free dining in the fall, so all your guests could get that deal if they wanted to stay on property. You could even use their credits (depending on if everyone is staying on property and all) to pay for group meals (even the wedding dinner if you're good) if you set that expectation with everyone! :thumbsup2

I also think you'll feel better doing this once all your school work and exams are done instead of cramming in a wedding in between.

I like the weather and the excitement of October. (Disclosure: We were married Oct. 30th in Disneyland but we tend to spend anniveraries at WDW now.)

It's a great time of year to get married. The excitement of the holidays is just around the corner, it gave time for us to enjoy things without being rushed at Christmastime, and it was an easy time of year for our guests to take the day off (We were married on a Monday.)

I voted for October becuase I am hoping that that will be the month I will be getting married. So right now OCt 2010 is my lucky month

I saw shoot for October. Fall decorations are gorgeous and the deep reds and burgandys against a white gown...can you say stunning?!?!?

thanks guys! Well, its narrowed down to October or December now we are going to poll the family too see who is available! :) Thanks for the input!!

I also would go with October. Weather has cooled down along with the crowds.

December here! A little cooler but still in the 70's perfect weather!
