I want to freak DH out by knowing all the 'tricks' to the parks when we go. Mostly to make things easier on me because I can't deal with Mr. Grumpypants at the happiest darn place on earth...

So, I know at DCA, we're to go to the furthest right turnstile and stay right to get to the RSR FP...or is that to get to the ride itself at rope drop?

What exactly is turnstile 13... or is it 14...?

I know to rub the apple while waiting in line at Snow White.

What else do I need to know to add that bit of magic to our trip?

Essentially, when you go and bring people who haven't been before, what do you do or show them that spreads the magic and makes them go, "Ooooh!"?

The Fp distribution between the Cathay Cirlce Restaurant and the turn off to BUgsland (heading to the Pier!)

What exactly is turnstile 13... or is it 14...? They say the line is less, but when you see a fast moving line with little to no people get in it!

What else do I need to know to add that bit of magic to our trip?
-In the IJ ride if a sign says do not pull, push, tug, etc...do it!!
-if your trying on hats at the Mad Hatters Gift Shop (in Fantasy land) look up into the mirror!
- as soon as you sit down on Star Tours make a funny pose and stare at the screen, you have a better chance of being chosen for the Rebel Spy!
-there are tonnes of facts and "secrets" just google it!


Essentially, when you go and bring people who haven't been before, what do you do or show them that spreads the magic and makes them go, "Ooooh!"? Honestly just being there is magical! Relax, enjoy each others company and have fun!

If you or DH are at all Star Wars fans, don't write off Jedi Training Academy as a kiddie show. It is, at first (though adorable to watch), but there are some special "guest appearances" that you will enjoy.

Not sure if Matterhorn will still be under refurbishment when you go there, but I would ride it at night instead of during the day, you get a lovely view of the lights on Small World from above. Ride the train around the whole park, there are interesting things to see on each part that you can't see from anywhere else. Don't forget to do the castle walkthrough, the door is easily overlooked by many. If you really like some of the foods you find in the parks, go to City Hall and ask if they can provide a recipe. When ordering a Dole Whip, do so from the inside of the Tiki Room waiting area...they serve people on both sides, and that line is usually much shorter than the long one out front! If seeing Aladdin, don't think that the upper most tier of seats are worst, because they are actually my favorite - I'll just say there are parts of the show that take place off-stage, including near the upper tier.

I'd love to be the Rebel Spy!! I'm a huge SW fan (DH... not so much. He doesn't get the whole "aliens" thing. Poor guy), so I'd love it! The mirror at the MH! Will do, thanks!

We can ask for a recipe!? Cool! I love collecting recipes and trying them out. I remember reading about the Tiki room lineup too, thanks for the reminder. I've heard the mezzanine is a great place for the show, and we're going to see it for sure!

Oh, one more thing I thought of. If you can time it right, be on the Storybook Land Canal Boats when the fireworks start, they will stop the boats for the whole show.

Oooohhh! Cool! Except, we're there a Sunday-Thursday (leave early Friday morning) in October, so I wonder what the schedule will be for then due to HT and the 60th... I hope they put the fireworks on for more than 1 night we're there.

I'm definitely going to ask to go in the Wheelhouse on the Mark Twain. I wonder if telling them I'm ex-navy would make a difference

They let a person captain the Mark Twain virtually any time. The only thing that would prevent you from doing it is if someone else has already asked. Then you may need to wait the 10 minutes until the next trip around.

My brother went last October and said you could ask to sit in very front of the Monorail with the driver. We plan on doing this in June. Also read somewhere that if you go to the train station on Main Street first thing in the morning you can ask to ride in the Lilly Belle car, it is a train car that Walt designed for his wife. (we plan on trying this too)

You can also ride with the driver on the Monorail. There is also a shadow of Sherlock Holmes with his pipe and cap in the second floor window of the manor that houses Mr.Toad's Wild Ride. Take time to listen to the sounds on Main street-you'll hear piano lessons and sounds coming from the dentist's office. There is also a Test Brick wall located near the entrance to the lockers on Main Street. It contains bricks laid out in several different masonry patterns. Then finally the Candy Kitchen has a vent that ends out smells of the aromas of the candy.

We were told in October that they don't let people ride in the front of the monorail anymore due to safety issues.

I was told once that a Disney employee cannot say no to taking a picture of you if you ask unless it would interrupt the operation of a ride. I have tested this out a lot over the years and have never found one that has said no yet. So get lots of group shots with everyone in the photo by asking an employee to take them.
