Help me avoid the awful coffee!

We bought a Tassimo machine earlier this year and love it. We love it so much that we took it with us on our trip this past September. Luckily we drive, so we had room to bring it. We got some of those Dixie to-go cups, and it was so great to start the day with a decent cup of coffee as we headed into the parks.

Our other favorite coffee is at the Dolphin. We usually go for breakfast at Fresh during out trip, and they serve Starbucks. No speciality coffees like lattes and espressos, but it's a good cup of regular coffee!

Don't forget the coffee over at the Poly - the Kona Cafe has a WONDERFUL cup of coffee!

And they will sell you a bag of beans (and they will grind 'em for you). I had Kona coffee all week this October. I'll have to look into a press pot perhaps! As for filters, the DVC properties have been the flat bottomed paper filters so far in the ones I have been too, OKW, BCV and VWL.

P.S. I agree that the horrible Nescafe is intolerable. We always bring good coffee. Can't believe that Disney hasn't figured out they could charge a little more and sell more coffee if they upgraded to a decent brand.

Since Nestles is a major sponsor at WDW (the Land, etc.) it's pretty doubtful that another brand of coffee will be brought in. :sad2: Maybe they will start putting Nepresso machines in all the DVC rooms instead of regular coffee makers? :rotfl2: Wouldn't THAT be great? :thumbsup2

I may just try that over Thanksgiving instead - I didn't know that you could get ground coffee there!! Excellent! Thanks, ,Alacrity!:hippie:

Muushka....we used to always bring our french press, grinder etc but have downsized. Our strategy is after we check in, a trip to Publix for our water, coffee cream and other basics and then over to Starbucks for a couple of pounds of French Roast(ground for drip) and a large iced coffee. When we make our coffee in the am we always save half the pot for our afternoon iced coffee break with maybe a lemon tart from the bakery in France or something from the Boardwalk. This works very well for us!! A little off topic but one trip I had been to WDW about 6 times that year, so had plenty of time to do those little things you always wish you had time for and was solo for parts of many days (DH over at Daytona Bike Week). I spent a morning getting a hot Starbucks Dark Roast at Preminum Outlet and then over to POR for beignets with my coffee.....heaven on earth!!!

Ummy! I always read these boards right before I make dinner, and I'm drooling from just vicariously living your recap!

I'd prefer a Krispy Kreme on property...maybe a small kiosk at each resort?? And with as ubiquitous as Starbucks is, I can't understand why they haven't invaded Disney!

Isn't it weird that with all Disney DOES offer, they FAIL at coffee and pizza??? Two of the staples of traveling parents and children!

As coke has the beverage contract @ WDW, Disney makes money upfront and then gets a break on supplies so they don't need us to buy coffee.:cool1:
