Help....Maytag Bravo

My Maytags are horrible also. I bought the set maybe 3 years ago and the washer has been fixed no less than 10 times. The dryer to this day takes 4 hours to dry a load of towels, about 6 to dry jeans. It was really raising the utility bills. We're not in a position to buy new, so we line dry now. I HATE my Maytags. The only appliance they do well are dishwashers..

Which Maytag did you have?

:cutie:

When I bought my new washer -- wow, has it been two years ago? -- I started out thinking that I wanted a Maytag. I'd always heard how great they are, how they last forever . . . when I started investigating, I heard differently. I understand that they USED TO BE the absolute best, but they were bought out by another firm, and now they're rather flimsy.

I bought a Whirlpool Duet, which is the best-selling front-loader. I've been thrilled with it. It really does live up to the front-loader hype.

Maytag, Jen-Air, and I believe Frigidaire are all the same company. Sears I believe now owns Whirlpool.

If you are buying your appliances at Home Depot and Lowes - you are getting a cheaper made model than the one you will purchase at your local appliance store. They outsides look the same, but the insides are made of cheaper materials - throw away material. Different model numbers.

You couldn't pay me to get a Maytag washer or dryer again. (I also had the ill fated Neptunes mentioned previously.)

OK, maybe you could pay me to get one for free. :lmao:

And Frigidare and the new Electrolux brand are the same company. I have found Frigidare is not what it used to be either.

I found in searching that USAppliance.com had a lot of models to look at. I ordered a part from them, but the price from Home Depot was the same for the washer. The pedestal was much cheaper from the website, with no tax and free shipping, and they had it in stock where HD did not. That is what sent me looking at the website after someone recommended it to me.
