Help making ressies, newbie

ok, here goes. Been to the world 2x before, but took the easy way out by doing a package through aa vacations. This year I have already bought the air tickets and now ready to do hotel ressies. I will buy pap before going. Ok.......now............when I call for room, (i know i have to wait for ap code)
1. ask for a room for all dates
2. they say no...do i ask for just 1 date at a time
3.do i ask for another hotel(heart set on por)
4.do i go ahead and book now at AAA rate and switch
5.can i do the same room at 1/2 one discount 1/2 another just in case ap rate not available for stay (06-11 to 06-20)
Sorry if this sounds all messed up, but I am not an agressive person and I am afraid I would just say OK to whatever they told me. Please help!

Here are some of my tips.
First, I would book rooms ASAP with your AAA discount to be sure you get the dates you want. You shouln't have any trouble changing them to the AP discount if and when they come out. I was able to change my ressies for Jan. just a few days ago. I had booked Wilderness Lodge with AAA discount for 188.00 per night. Then when the discount rates came out I was able to call and have them apply the discount, which brought the rate down to 109.oo per night. We were so happy.
I don't know about rates in June, because I haven't been there in June since 1996, and we stayed off site at some dive for about 30 bucks a night! But I'm sure you should be able to get a better rate as your date draws near.
I have never stayed at POR, but for moderates I stayed at CSR, and payed about ninety per night, and that was with out any special discount (If my memory serves me correctly).
I believe June is considered to be regular season, so the rates should not be that bad. As far as attendance goes, the beginning of June seems to be lower, but then there is a spike, after the kids get off from school for the summer.
