We are set for a 4 night cruise on April 10th. My husband just called and wants to change from 4 night to 7 night. I can't call Disney right now to find out this info, I hope my Dis Friends can help. Most important does anyone know if there is a charge to change we're not cancelling (which will be more $$$ for Disney). Would you change if this was you? We may have to come in the night before where should we stay? I'm so confused please help.

You would be cancelling the 4-day, but you are still outside the 60 day window, so you should be OK. You need to call whoever you made your original reservation with and see if there is any open cabins for the 7-day. You don't have much time, as the 60-day window will close soon.

Since your cruise is more than 60 days out, I don't think there's any penalty. Of course, you'll pay the difference (today's rate) for a 7-day.

Call DCL ASAP, and good luck! What a great change of plans! :cool1:

If you are within the restricted time (which for cruises booked within the last six months or so I think is 90 days) then there will be a change fee on the order of $50 per person I think. If you booked this during the time frame when restrictions don't begin until 60 days out, then you won't have extra fees.

The real issue is that changing your cruise itenerary will be just like starting all over again. You will pay current prevailing rates, and for a cruise that's only 2-3 months away, that will be much higher than a cruise you booked a year in advance. Basically, you loose any early booking discounts when ever you change your cruise. I think the same goes for changing your catagory even if you stay on the same itenirary, but I'm not sure.

how long ago did you book the 4 day? Was it when the payment in full day was 60 days before you cruised, or after they changed it to 90 days?

We just booked last week and had to be paid up by this past Sat. Do you think it's worth the extra fee. This is a very special cruise for us It is our 25th ann. and my husband has been ill and we're celebrating a great report from Drs. What should we do????

Ok...my totally impulsive first response is...

life is too short NOT to celebrate every moment.

GO for for the 7 day and enjoy it!

By all means, go for it!

(If it's within your finances, but I have the feeling it is?) What a wonderful way to celebrate good news, AND your 25th anniversary! :earsgirl:

25th anniversary and a great report form the Drs......go for it!!!!! Have fun and enjoy!!!!! :flower: :cheer2:

absolutely, go for the 7 day if you can afford it. the time goes by so quickly you'll feel like you just got on the ship with the 4 day cruise. happy 25th anniversary that is a special milestone.

A suggestion ~ find out if there is availablity on the 7 day BEFORE you cancel your 4 day!!! April could well be booked solid especially with the Magic going to the West Coast in May. If they are booked, maybe add a few days on at Disney World, Disney's Vero Beach Resort (its beautiful!), or enjoy the weekend at Cocoa Beach.

Thank You all for your Imput. We have been saving 10 years for this ann. to make it an extra special one. We were suppose to go to Hawaii but husband's health crisis changed plan. (I would rather have Disney anyway). We also realize how SPECIAL life is and to enjoy every moment. By making a 1st class Disney vacation this is creating memories that are priceless. One day memories will be all we have so we're going for the best.
Thank You Again

Another option may be to add the three day onto the four day. It depends on what you are looking for in a seven day cruise. A three+four won't give you a variety of ports or formal nights or character breakfasts or special theme nights, but it will give you two CC days (hopefully) and seven days of relaxation.

Call Disney and tell them your situation.

They will work with you.

BTW final for Cat 4-12 staterooms is now 75 days.

Well it's done we changed to the 7 night cruise and Disney waived the fee. We didn't get a cat. 4 but we did get a cat. 5 handicap room which is great because now I can bring my scooter. I was unable to get that on the Wonder. The varandah is tremendous and the room is Aft which is what I wanted. Now I have to get my mind set on the westen Caribbean.

Thanks to all :earsgirl: :Pinkbounc
