Help - we're going to WDW in February. My 20 mo old will not leave the house without her precious bunny. My utmost fear is that we bring bunny to WDW and she loses him. So, I am on a quest to find a replacement bunny to bring (and leave the original bunny at home). She got it as a gift when she born 6/2003 and I can't find it anywhere. Its a small beige rabbit wearing pink/white striped pajamas holding a small blanket square in one hand. It doesn't have a rattle. Its just a soft body. The tag says Welcome Home Baby by Carter's and the manufacturer is Rashti & Rashti. Come-on fellow Dis'ers I need your help!!! Thanks! :grouphug:

Check Babies 'R Us or Carters website (if you haven't check with them yet). My MIL said that there was a Carters outlet somewhere in PA, they went there on a trip to buy the grandbabies something.

Thanks for the reply Dragonfly. I'm desperate! I did check every store I could think of online but I didn't think of outlets. Maybe they would carry older or discontinued items. Thanks so much for the tip! :D

Try looking on ebay. My niece carries a Fisher Price Bunny and my SIL was afraid if she lost it she would be devastated. She looked online and at stores all over and couldn't find it. She went on ebay and found 3 and purchased them and tucked them away incase she does lose the original.

Its worth a shot!!

Good luck

Great idea but unfortunately no luck. I just checked pages of Carter's bunnies and couldn't find my daughters. I live in constant fear that she will lose hers. I'm glad your SIL was able to find hers.
I'll just keep checking. Any other suggestions would be great! :D :D

Is there anyway if you bring it you can leave it in the room instead of dragging it to the parks and all over?? Both my boys carry blankets and I only allow them to bring them on trips for bed time, we don't carry them all over.
Atleast this way if its in the room only its less of a chance of losing it. Hope you can find another one in the meantime! Good luck.

Our rule is that bunny is allowed only as far as the car. We go through this little routine where we kiss bunny goodbye and then sit bunny in her car seat. This will be our first time on a plane with bunny. I will definitely not let bunny leave the hotel room though!! I could just pack bunny but g-d forbid we lose our luggage. Can you believe my stress over this??? My dd is my 3rd but my 2 ds's never had a lovey like that. My DH just thinks we should go cold turkey and leave bunny home. But I don't think I could bear listening to "Bunny, Where are you???????????" all over WDW.
Thanks for your help! :D

I will check at our Carter's outlet. they sometimes have stuff from 2-3 years ago so it would be worth a look.

If you can't find one, I think I would make some sort of "leash" for bunny and attach it to the car seat.

Lori - It would be great if you could check out your outlet store. We have one in Westbrook CT but they don't have it there. I would be forever in your debt! :flower1:

A girl always needs an excuse to go to the mall :smooth:

If bunny gets lost, tell DD that Bunny liked WDW so much that he decided to go live with Mickey. End of story.

There is some chance your daughter won't accept a "replacement" Bunny anyway. One of my girlfriends tried this. But the new replacement didn't have the same smell or worn parts as the two year old lovey and just sat.

DS has a little dog (actually something I had on my shelf since college) and takes it EVERYWHERE. He keeps it tucked under his armpit while he plays and does other things. I was so worried taking him to WDW. I bought a small pet collar for him and got an engraveable pet tag at the pet store w/ our cell#'s, name, and hotel (we're DVC so usually same hotel). I also got a bottle holder strap at Disney. Not the pin lanyard but the bottle strap has the rubber circle opening that can be cinched up tight (yes it looks like you're strangling the poor animal but he's safe). Then looped the strap around his stroller bar so he could still love him but not toss him over!

I'm going to our Carter's outlet too this weekend and wil look.

My DD brought "blankie" to WDW have not seen it since. Of course she was 11. She is now 13 and still mentions it. She seems to think her cousins dog ate it, but I last remember having it in WDW.

By the way, according to her, as sad as this sounds, it was the SMELL of blankie that she misses, she says it smells like "home, or me or something"
I think it is love and security.

We have a Carter outlet down the Cape Cod Outlet. Usually we take a ride on Sundays, sometimes we end up there. If we go tomorrow, I'll pick one up IF it's there. If it ends up someone else got one for you I'll keep mine for my DD (17mnths.).

Good luck.

I'll check in tomorrow night (Sun. Jan. 16).

Thanks so much Deesknee. I've heard that its the smell that the kids get attached to. I'm thinking that if we find another bunny we'll take the replacement bunny to Disney. Someone told me to try washing it a million times with the same detergent we wash bunny with (when my DD lets us wash her). I know it won't be the same but maybe it would get us through our trip and then good old original bunny would be home waiting for us. :D

Good luck ... we had a little experience last summer when we visited Niagara Falls (we live in Ontario, Canada). DD took "Baby" with her. We had previously taken her with us to Florida without any problems, so I didn't really think about it. She only needs her to sleep, so we don't carry her around.

We ended up switching hotels for the second night, to a very nice hotel (Embassy Suites) with a view of the falls, but that night we took the big comforter off of dd's bed. In the morning we picked it up and threw it on the bed so that youngest dd wouldn't trip as she was walking holding onto things. We didn't notice in all of the chaos of checking out that Baby wasn't with us. While checking out I had my youngest dd in my arms and she grabbed a hard cardboard pamphlet and was swinging it around and of course it hit me in the eye. I didn't think much of it at the time, although it hurt like ****!! Anyways, we finally headed home (a three hour drive) as I was in so much pain and just wanted to go home. I ended up at the emerg that night (I had a bad scratch on my cornea), so poor dh was home alone tucking them into bed that night and that is when he noticed Baby was missing. Assuming we hadn't unpacked her, dd was ok that night ... well we searched every bag and realized that she was gone.
I called the hotel and they hadn't seen her and I was sooo sure she had been in the bedding, so I kept saying she's in the laundry room!!! I called a few times as no one seemed to really care (and in our house we were in crisis mode  ). We told dd that Baby wanted to go back and see the whales again and maybe some other little girl was taking good care of her. I searched all of the big stores online, but the new version of the doll has a silky body, whereas baby's is kind of flannely-fuzzy. I even tried ebay with no luck. Lo and behold about a month later a really nice lady called and they had found her on someone's cleaning cart (which I was firmly informed was checked EVERY night!) ... anyways we had her purolated up and my dd was soooooo excited she actually had tears in her eyes when we announced that baby was home. :cloud9:
I'm apprehensive to take her on our trip this year. I do NOT want to go through this again!!!! BUT ... we will probably attempt it as dd holds this doll all night long ... I hope we have learned our lesson and ALWAYS check for Baby whenever we leave somewhere!!!

Good luck ... sorry my story is so long

Kerry - So glad you found baby. Its my worst fear to lose bunny. My DD only needs bunny to sleep but I still have ogida over bringing bunny on the plane.
