HELP! Looking for advice...

from anyone who has booked two reservations to be able to use a code.

I have had my trip planned for over two years and booked since Aug. 2007. Nov 19-28, POFQ, MYW Package, 10 day tickets w/ph and basic dining. Now Disney is messing with me by making all these codes available.

Last week when a code was available through 11/22, I figured it was not worth the hassle and I would have to do without the dining plan for 11/22-11/28.

NOW... the offer has been extended to 11/25. So, I could re-book and apply the code to my trip for 11/19-11/25, get 10 day tickets with park hoppers and have the dining plan for the first 6 nights of my trip. Then book a room only ressie for 11/25-11/28 (plus possibly get a AAA discount). The total savings would be over $700, part of that savings is not having dining for the last 3 nights (for 2 adults, 1 child), but I only have LTT and BOMA planned for 11/26 & 11/27.

Honestly, this is causing me extreme anxiety (my heart is racing as I type this). If it is too much hassle to book two reservations or if there is a possibility of things getting screwed up while we are there then it’s not worth it. But we’re talking about a lot of money and I have been saving and looking forward to this trip for a long time.

Please share your experiences if you have ever booked a package and a room only ressie to be able to use a code (or some other special offer).

Book the new rez, then cancel the previous one. By any means, DO NOT cancel first, or have them do that as they could screw up and you'll have nothing in the end.

That is, you need to make sure all is available. I would do this in this order:

a) Book your room only (hold or no deposit)
b) Book with your code (deposit)
c) Cancel previous one

Note that you do risk the posibility of having to move between properties and/or rooms between your package and room only rez.

We have 3 different ressies when we go in Nov.
We have 1 nite at POP with STandard Package price.
2 nites at BC-rented points.
I have the 40% off code I received last Jan. for POR.

I bought mly tickets through a different broker.

We are not doing the free dining since the 40% off on the room is a better deal.\plus I never received an e-mail with the pin codel.

CRO is used to dealing with split stay ressies all the time. I even changed around some of the resorts. We had AKL in their but we cancelled and made it POR.

Thank you so much for your replies . I was hoping that I could have Disney reservations change the dates of my original reservation and apply the code and then book the room only reservation. Good advice to book the room only first. I'm hoping that we would not have to switch rooms, and I won't use the code if it means we would have to switch resorts.

I'll call Disney in the morning to determine if all this is really worth it.
