Hi all,

Here's the scoop: my DH and I are looong overdue for a romantic weekend (kids, jobs, sicknesses). We even got jipped out of a hoeymoon! So, I'd like to surprise him with a weekend away. We actually live in SW Orlando (a few minutes away from the Park) and are, of course, very familiar with the area. While I'm not at all opposed to staying on Property (we're Passholders), the hotel amentities are more important this time.

I'd like to find a romantic, or Honeymoon, suite. Concierge would be nice, but I really would like to find a room with a romantic whirlpool or large tub in the room. One of DH's current wants is the ability for the 2 of us to have some quiet time to just soak and read or talk together. So the tub issue is paramount.

Can anybody help, please?????

THANK YOU!!!

the garden suites at the BWI are just the ticket. We stayed there this year for our 20th.

Two story suite with a private garden, bird house, white picket fence. Concierge lounge priviledges.

GIGANTIC hot tub. Three TVs including one in the bathroom which you can watch shile in the hot tub.

Also, one of the suites at the GF sounds pretty good. May stay there for our 25th. But they are about 3 times as much as the BWI garden suites.

I also recommend the cottage suites at BWI. I tried to book one for our trip lst June but none were available. :(

Next time I go with just my DH that is where we want to stay. But that won't be for a looooooooooonnnnnnngggg time. :D

Have a ROMANTIC time!!!!!!!!

Here's another vote for the Garden Suites at the BWI. Some other good choices would be a suite at the AKL (I think all suites automatically get concierge service there), or one of the suites at the Yacht or Beach Club (great pool!).

Keep in mind that suites are not inexpensive, and often book up far in advance during peak times. If you can't get a "true suite" try for a deluxe room at the BWI concierge, they have a nice sitting area :)

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE GREAT RESPONSE!!!!

I know this is gonna sound dumb, but what does BWI stand for? (besides Baltimore-Washington Interational Airport)?? :0)

Board Walk Inn. You'll love it there :D

You could also look into any of the DVC properties - Old Key West, BoardWalk Villas, Beach Club Villas, or Wilderness Lodge Villas.

A one bedroom would be absolutely WONDERFUL. King sized bed, whirlpool bathtub (the ones at OKW are larger, and will hold both of you), full kitchen, TV's in bedroom and living room, washer dryer, large balcony, etc.

OKW is my home resort for Disney Vacation Club, and we really love it there; they are condo style accomodations, so you park right outside your door. It's very quiet, esp away from the pools, and there are great views of the canal or golf club. It's a nice walk to Downtown Disney (or you can drive of course). The balconies are larger than at the other resorts. Forgot to mention there's a boat ride to Downtown disney as well, and you can rent small boats at OKW too.

The price for these resorts tend to be fairly high, but you could also look into renting points from a Disney Vacation Club member; there's a board on DIS that's devoted to DVC Point rental:

DVC Rent/Trade Board

Check it out!!

well, i like the idea of the gf honeymoon suites, but am now curious about these bwi cottages. i thought they were as expensive as gf. anyway, another option is one of the honeymoon suites at the wilderness lodge. i haven't been in them but know that they have a jacuzzi and most people rate them the best honeymoon suites value on property.

I called ofr over the 4th of July. Some were available for 800/night. While this is a lot... I thought this would be much more. The suites at thr Contemporary on the 14th floor were 1200/night!

If the tub is more important to you than a big suite, you could try a honeymoon room at the Wilderness Lodge. They're fairly inexpensive, for a honeymoon room, and are on the concierge level, so you get pampered :) They also have the big jacuzzi tubs. They aren't a real suite, though, so if you wanted a separate living room, this wouldn't be for you.
Cheers!

I found some pricing on the Internet tonight. Here it is...

BoardWalk Inn Garden Suites:
Value / Regular / Peak / Holiday
$535 / $590 / $655 / $770

(Note: Tax Not Included)

I dont know how romanitc HIFS is but i was looking at their website and seen that they have a sweetHeart suite. It has a 117 gallon heart shaped whirlpool tub, mood lighting, scented bath lotions, heated towel rack, and some terry cloth robes.
