We will be coming to the parks staight from our drive in from Georgia ( not sure what part yet-south of Atlanta-hope to only have about a three or four hour drive early that AM)then need to check in to get key for parks for proof for FOTL-plus it is going to be on a Sat. (in early Nov.) So we won't be getting an early start like I'd like to. Which park should we attempt on Sat. since we only have that day for one park and Sunday (all day) for the next? We are traveling with a group with varying ages- most importantly an 8 y.o., 7 y.o. and 4 y.o. Will it be too cool out to do things that get you wet?

I say, do Universal Studios the first day, when you don't have as much time. Line waits are longer at Islands of Adventure with exception to Shrek at US.

I believe for their age group, they'll love IOA because of Dr. Suess Land and other neat things. Universal Studios DOES have a kids area as well and you may want to compare and contrast the two parks for things for the kids.

I haven't been to the kids area at US. But I do know they have the ET ride, Animal Planet Live! show, a kiddie rollercoaster and a Curious George themed area.

At IOA, things are more "colorful." They have a few kiddie rides including The Cat in the Hat, Carosuessel (spelling?), One fish two fish red fish blue fish, If I ran the zoo is a water play area that is really neat. They also have a kiddie coaster at the Lost Continent called the Unicorn.

But, waits are generally longer at IOA, so that's why I recommend US first. :)

Hope this helps
