Trying to decide. We are going in September. She will just be 7. The last night falls on a Monday. Was planning on Not doing a park the last night.

Should we choose DD, where she can do the DJ dance party, and a little shopping??? CM said schedule isnt out yet to see if dance party is going on, but usually occurs every night they said...OR the Boardwalk, we could eat at Flying Fish and walk around. There are magicians and jugglers. Any boardwalk games or arcades? I forget.

Thoughts?

Here is our plan:
First day: MK with Cinderellas Castle for Lunch.
Next day Epcot, and back to MK for parade, wishes, and dinner at Be out Guest
Last day: AK and late afternoon relaxing by pool.
Skipping HS this trip.

THANKS!!!

We stayed at BW last August, and my daughter loved walking around seeing the juggler & magician. They do have a couple carnival type games set up at night. None of these things take a lot of time. Do you have park hopper, if so it's a quick walk to Epcot or boat to HS... squeeze in a couple rides at HS? DTD we've never done the dance party so I can't comment on that. I think excluding dinner BW would be quicker, DTD you could kill more time.

Thank you!!!!! Not sure about doing another park, and yes we have the hopper. We will be at AK all day, and since its the last night, I feel like we shoudl get back to hotel and pack etc, not stay out too late. Also thinking she will probably be beyond exhausted. If we eat at flying fish at around 6, it will already be almost 8 by the time we end with dinner. So maybe the boardwalk will be relaxing. Are there any shops on the boardwalk she can shop bring a souvenier home?? >>Maybe its better then dealing with all the chaos at DD.

No games at the Boardwalk. The only arcades would be the ones located at the BWI and YC/BC.

At DTD, you'll be able to shop, have silhouettes done, have a custom-made snack at Goofy's Candy Co., and check out all the new restaurants, etc.

Here's the current scheduled for the Dance Party - check wdwent.com for Disney Springs' happenings before you go:
  • DJ Kids Dance Party at Fountain Stage: Sunday, Friday & Saturday 7:00pm-10:00pm; at Waterside Stage: Monday-Thursday 7:00pm-10:00pm

BW will be VERY relaxing although it gets busier at night. There is a shop on the boardwalk similar to the shops you find in the other resorts. Also, you can get an ice cream, and walk along the boardwalk. The magician & juggler are hit & miss... if they have a schedule I wasn't aware of it, but my daughter LOVED them the couple times we caught them. BTW, my daughter was just 7 at the time too.

They do open up some carnival type games at night (or at least they did last August). I think like a basketball one, and a fishing one, etc. There were 4 at most.

There are 3 carnival games at the Boardwalk. A Basketball game, a lobster flipping game, and I can't remember what the third one was. I know this very well, because my balcony looked directly out at them last fall.

Why couldnt the CM thru chat give me those hours???? I just asked 2 hrs ago..LOL....Well, we would pass on the snack cause of her allergy. But we were plnning on dinner, and a shop to pick a souvenier. I have no idea why I cant make a decision. LOL. She would enjoy the dance party though, but not sure how crowded it gets. If we go in BI, then she can play at the arcade even though we are staying at that resort??

Are those few games open at night? Can we go to the arcade then in Boardwalk resort? How is it? Is there a merry go round in the resort? We are not staying at the resort though.

Yes those games don't open until late afternoon. Around early dinner time. They are the kind you pay for and can win stuffed animals, etc. Yes, you could go the arcade, it's not very big, but there is one there. It's not in the hotel itself, its in the walkway that goes out towards the pool.
The Boardwalk performers are fun, and there is plenty of treats to be eaten there as well.
You can rent a surrey bike and ride around the lake also, but be warned, the hills are MUCH bigger than they look when you are peddling one of those things!!!

Thank you!!! Great tips everyone!!! We woudl eat at Flying Fish. I do remember loving that restaurant. The treats will be tough with her nut allergy, but we will already be eating at the restaurant.

We also are thinking maybe we could squeeze in Fantasmic. But Im so unsure. It is going to be a packed 3 days. Not sure how our daughter will hold up.

Your DD is the perfect age for the BW magician/juggler shows. They almost always include kids in their acts. If you finish Flying Fish at about 8:00 then then you can take in an act or 2, stop in the BW shops and walk over the bridge or take a boat for the 9:00 Epcot fireworks if you want.

I was at the boardwalk two nights ago and I saw an arcade next to espn zone. The boardwalk performers were great - it's a great way to take a little break and be entertained.
