Ok, here's the summary: We leave on Saturday for a week at DL, staying at Hojos. "We" is DH and I, and two girls, 10 and 16 mos. My mom will be there part of the time.

*DH is going for the Cisco conference-he'll have activities at least Monday and Wednesday night, and Tues-Thurs during the day.
*My mom flies in Sunday night and out on Thursday.
*We will get there Saturday morning and leave the next Saturday morning.
Questions:
1. What is our best EE day? I'd been thinking Monday (ruling Sunday out as it's a weekend, and picking Monday since both Mom and DH could go). Now I've heard Mondays are busy for EE. I'm sure DH would survive if we changed-in fact, he could probably go, as I'm sure his conference starts later in the morning.
2. What is our best day to hit Nemo? I'm guessing not an EE day, which would leave Wednesday, right?
3. We have 5 day parkhoppers, and I had been planning to stay out of the park on Wednesday, as DH will be busy into the evening (attending a Kiss concert for his conference :rotfl: ). Now I'm thinking I should go that day (darn!) as my mom will want to go. Tickets were purchased through getawaytoday-do I need to call them to upgrade? Can I do that last minute or am I too late?
4. I see online that the weather in Anaheim is around 85 degrees right now. I was expecting it to be hotter than that (though I'll be delighted if it's not). So, for folks in the vicinity, how's the weather?

I'm sure there are more questions-thanks all for making my months of anticipation go faster and for all the incredibly useful advice.

I can chime on this one. Sunday is not an EE day, so I would agree that Monday would be your best day if you want your dh included. Tues and Thurs are a bit slower for EE in general.

I would try to hit Nemo on either Sunday or Wed morning since they aren't EE mornings.

Limace, quick question. Why did you buy your tickets through getawaytoday? I'm going to the Cisco-Live conference too and I got mine through the convention's discount tickets website. 5 day park hopper on getawaytoday: $189, on conventionguest: $149.

Did you not know about the discount tickets?

As already posted, Sunday does not have EE. If everyone in your party is there, you should use EE on Monday. The earlier in the trip, the better.

IF you can get yourself over to the DL gates at 6:20AM for EE, the best day to do Nemo is on your EE day. The crowds at the gates in the mornings are much worse on non-EE days, and the rush to Nemo is much more crowded. If you cannot get there that early, then do Nemo on a non-EE day and get there at 7:10AM. If you cannot do either, then be prepared for a 90-120 minute wait. If you do Nemo for EE, you can do the Fantasyland rides on a non-EE day (Sunday or Wednesday), and should get to the gates on one of those days by 7:30AM if you want to avoid all the lines.

You should call them, but I expect you will have to upgrade them at DLR at the ticket booths.

It does get hotter than 85 in the summer, but 85 degree highs are typical for July. Lots of folks are constantly saying how hot is it at DLR in the summer, but my experience over my last five summer trips is that it is really not that hot.

Classic. My DH is not good at all at absorbing these kind of details-since he's the one going to the conference, he gets all the info and he doesn't really look closely at it (and man, the website for the conference isn't very helpful IMHO). Are those unrestricted tickets? I know sometimes convention tickets are half-day tickets, but it doesn't sound like it if you got parkhoppers. Oh well....

Thanks, Hydroguy! I WILL get everyone to the gates at 6:20 on Monday, then....I've warned DH that I turn into a big of a tyrant when it comes to DL. I've read your summer tips and other tips and they are all very helpful.

Yup, they are unrestricted tickets. They do have the half-day tickets too but since I'm doing a business trip/vacation, I got the 4 day park hoppers. Those were $139 for adults and $119 each. Don't know were you are staying but they also had GREAT discounts for conference attendees. I am staying at the Grand Californian for $249 a night!

I know what you mean about the website, it's pretty poorly put together. In order to see all this info you have to go to the cisco-live website, then click on attendees, then click on FAQ, then on the left you will see a link that says travel and hotel. Clicking on the questions in that section will give you all the info you need.
