Help! Kids want to go on Finding Nemo

I've been playing around with Ridemax for our upsoming trip and it seems like the line is at its longest about 30-60 min after the park opens. Everyone runs to Nemo first thing so unless you are one of the first, you are going to wait a long time. Like others have said, I would probably wait until closing time and get in line. That way, even if you have to wait, you won't be wasting park time waiting in line. That is, if you DS will be OK that late.

Was at DL today and it was the only ride that had a 60 min+ wait all day long, we did not wait. Will try again later this week, but without a fastpass my kids are not likely to wait for it. :(

We were there on Saturday and Sunday Apr 12 & 13th for MM.

On our first MM we went on Peter Pan 3x, Toad's wild ride, and both sides of Matterhorn. My son and I went over the Nemo to check the line and the CM said 10 minute wait... it was about 7:55. I didn't understand what he was explaining to me when I told him I have to wait for my husband and daughter. He said, get on line and have them meet you at the exit. My husband is one who does not like to cut people on line... and I didn't have my cell phone with me. Right as my son and I were turning around to find Dad and Daughter, a huge herd came running toward us and I had no idea what was happening. My son was left on the the other side of the herd. I just then realized that the 8:00 crowd was coming in and making a mad dash for Nemo.

We did Snow White and Pinocchio instead of waiting on the line, and luckily we got dreamed with fast passes... it was great. The next day, Sunday, we got in at 7:00 and got to Nemo at about 7:45. The line was less than 15 minutes long.

We were there over spring break. We had no intention of doing Nemo at all as we decided we would not wait for any ride over 10 minutes. We collected fast passes and did rides that had mostly 0-5 min wait. Welllll - we did our MM on Sunday and it was wonderful. I guess the Sat. night crowds had a sleep in. We did every ride in Fantasyland (some twice) and did both sides of Matterhorn. On our way to get fast passes for Space Mountain walked by Nemo and were told it was walk on. Yippee!!! It was cute to see once but no way would I wait. Some waits we were told over spring break were up to 4 hours long. Major waste of fun time.

Get there 45min early on a non MM day and then when the rope drops walk really fast. Make sure to listen to where the line for nemo will start if you take any shortcuts they make you go all the way back to the end of the line. We have done this twice on busy days and always get on the first sub.

Interesting. Two different people here (kirabird & scrappin mama) confirm that near the end of a MM hour that Nemo was walk on (or near walk on).

This really makes sense to me as many who have done Nemo (like me) have no interest in doing it again (if we have to wait or hassle with it) & the folks who raced to Nemo at MM opening have gone thru the ride (like a pig through a python). (at least this makes sense to me during non-peak times)

I wonder if we're on to something. If we can get some other folks with multiple MMs during the coming month to try this as well. On one of their MMs, walk around the Matterhorn from FL & you'll walk right by the Nemo entrance (say at the :55 minute mark) on your way over to SM to pick up a FP on the :00 hour. Ask the CM what the wait is at the :55 min. mark of MM.

& if it's walk on.....then heck....ride it. :thumbsup2

Shamelessly bumping so I hear from the invasion of the DisGirls that they'll scope out this possible strategy. :rolleyes1

We walked straight there after getting through for MM and were on the 3rd sub, we were also at the front of the line to get into the park so we were ahead of the crowd. Without our stroller and having to park it I think we would have been first on.

For future info, and for others, you can take your stroller in the line with you. Just as you get to the covered section, the CMs will take your stroller and park it for you. It's a really great part of that line!

I'm sure you didn't notice others with strollers so you didn't know that, b/c you were there so fast. :)

But it's good to know for people getting there later!

About going at closing. I had a CM tell me they ran the Nemo line until 2 am one night during spring break :scared1: .

Horrifying to you, cool to me. Imagine getting to be in the park long after closing (without having to win the Dream Suite). :cool1:

I am thinking we are going to try to ride after we see the 10:30 F! on Friday, May 9th. We will try to find a spot to watch F! riverside or at POTC...can anyone tell me what would be the best route from there to Nemo? We haven't been since it opened, I am not sure where the entrance is. :lmao:

I would recommend hopping in line at night just before closing. We did this on a night that closing was 10pm. I think we only waited 30 mins. Then the next day on early entry we didn't have to be with the hoards of people running to the subs-Also we noticed on one early morning the subs were'nt running. We think the castmembers overslept!

We were just there this past week (Tues-Fri) and kept running by the Nemo ride to check the times. On the MM we had, it was a 60 minute wait! We ended up going on Thursday night at about 8:30 or so. We had about a 30 minute wait, which was the shortest wait we had seen for it. Even at a 30 minute wait, it was the longest line we waited in our whole trip! We definitely used the fast passes to our advantage for everything else!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I think we may try first thing in the morning and if to busy try the :55 minute mark and if it's still busy then maybe we will just try right before closing or during F - provided that DS is still awake!

Just wondering how the DIS ladies did this weekend with Finding Nemo? Did you have a long wait?

We didn't do this as a group this weekend. I'm not aware of anyone else who did it (though I'm sure there were some!) I did it at about 11:45 on Saturday night after Fantasmic and it was about 35 minute wait.

If actually riding on the subs isn't crucial to you, they do have an 'observation deck' that accomodates wheelchairs and folks who are claustrophobic. the line for that is usually shorter and is under the monorail platform, near where Nemo exits. I've seen it both ways, and I think I actually prefer the observation deck. It is the exact same show, except you are not riding in the sub. A few of us DIS girls did it that way this weekend.

My son and I did it on a MM day and did not run. . .we waited about 15 minutes. . . It was okay but I would probably not do it again till the newness of it wears off and people are not RUNNING for the line. . .I would have preferred to do Peter Pan and Mr Toad before trying Nemo again. . .though it was fun to see how they incorporated nemo into the submarine voyage. . .
