I just booked the GF for a quick getaway to WDW. Is there a food court? Do they have refillable mugs? Do the restaurants let you eat there if you don't have a ps? Also, all that was left was a garden view room? Any suggestions which bldgs are better? Thanks!!!

Yes to all your questions. I think building choice is a personal preference. Have a great time.

Technically, there is no food court, but there is a counter service, fast food place called Gasparilla's Grille.

Yes, they do offer refillable mugs.

Not all the restaurants are going to be available to you without a PS. For example, the character breakfast and character dinner at 1900 Park Faire typically do fill up. Citrico's and Narcoossee's are only open for dinner and again, they can get crowded during peak dinner times. The GF Cafe is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. As with most resort restauraunts, I think they do keep some seatings available for their on-site guests, but if you are looking to seat a large group or dine during peak hours, I would strongly suggest making a PS now or as soon as you arrive at the resort.

All the buildings are very nice and you won't end up with any parking lot views. You can request a marina view in Sago Cay and that's considered garden. If you want to be closer to the pools, then Boca Chica or Big Pine Key are good choices. Conch Key is set back a little bit further, which makes for a nice quiet area. The walk between the 2 furthest points, is probably no more than 2 or 3 minutes.

We went twice to 1900 Park Fare without a PS and they had space this past July. We decided against it both times but we could have if we had wanted to with very little wait times. That may not be the case all the time but if was for us in July.

Gasparilla's Grill also has the refillable mugs with Captain Hook on them as well. I'm drinking from it right now ! :drinking1

Gasparilla's is great...for some reason I always remember the way one of those arcade games sounds in there...it's funny the things recalled sometimes! It's just counter service but we've always had good food there, and of course, it helps that you're in that beautiful hotel when you're eating it... :cloud9: GF is just heaven!

We've stayed in garden category and it's great. Sometimes we've seen part of the pool, other times landscaping. I'm not sure if there's necessarily a bad view there, because there is no way to see the parking lot or service area or anything. All the buildings are surrounded by pleasant scenery in one form or another. :wizard:

We're not big on the view (just not important to us), but the views from the 2nd and maybe 3rd floor of Big Pine garden side in the middle to left (facing the front of the building from the quiet pool) of the building are pretty unimpressive. You basically look at the top of the pool house/building for the quiet pool. It's not a parking lot, but one getting one of those rooms on their first visit would probably be pretty disappointed in the view after so many say there isn't really a bad view at GF (which I agree with on 90% of the rooms).
