HELP! January 6 - 15th, 2011

Background:
January 6 - 15th, Marathon Package for 2 rooms at Carribean Beach already reserved with deposit (5 of us, 2 adults, 2 13 year olds, 1 14 year old); total original cost for 2 rooms with no dining and 9 day Park Hopper tickets = $4780.41.

Since free dining doesn't "kick in" until 1/9 - 1/13 for us (as we can't arrive on January 5th since I already bought the plane tickets - oops!); I was thinking of changing my reservation (or cancelling and rebooking) to get the room only discounts from 1/6 - 1/9, then the free dining at regular room rate from 1/9 - 1/13, then back to the room only discount for 1/13 and 1/14.... This seems like it might be a bit ridiculous....or not even possible.. as the park tickets have to go with the free dining portion (which starts on the
9th). My rough calculations are as follows: 1/6 - 1/9 room only = $800 (for both rooms); then 1/9 - 1/13 = $3048 with 9 day PH tix and five days free dining; then 1/13 - 1/15 room only = $500 for both rooms; total for the trip = $4348 with 5 days of free dining in the middle. Can I use my PH tickets on the 6th or would I have to change that part too?? Maybe I should just change to Pop Century?

Is there a merit badge for this kind of thing?

Have you looked at the price of All Star Music Suites? POR? (if one of your teens is small they may be able to sleep on the trundle) or Fort Wilderness Cabins? Remember that the dining plan goes down to quick service dining when to stay at a value and to get table service it is $10-$15 per night (depending on the dates) per person to increase to table service plan.

As far as the 3 reservations I don't know?

Why are you going back to the room only discount at the end? Even if the dates are blacked out, you get to keep the free dining as it goes by when you checked in. You could do a room only to start and then switch to free dining on the 9th and keep that discount until you leave.

Also, I have heard you can pick up package tickets a few days early also. You could probably just buy all of your tickets with the free dining package and get them early to use with your room only days.

If you do POR, which can hold 5 people, your room only for 1/6-1/9 would be $399. ASMu family suite would be $570. CBR for 2 rooms would be $798.

From 1/9-1/15 at POR with Free dining, 9 day PH tickets, it would be $2,718.17. ASMu family suite is not available. CBR would be $3,774.55 for 2 rooms with Free dining, 9 day ph tickets.

POR total would be $3,117.17
CBR total would be $4,572.55

These are rough calc. but I think I got them right.
