I'm about to go nuts!

My ds (9) is super picky about his food. (yes, I have discussed this with the pediatrician). The only meats he will eat are bacon and chicken nuggets/strips (NOT grilled). No veggies, no cheese, no pasta.

The breakfast buffets are good. But I don't want to do all our table service meals for breakfast. I am having a really hard time finding chicken nuggets on the menu for most restaurants--especially the character lunches and dinners.

I would dearly love to do the 1900 Park Fare diner and see Cinderella. The menu listed does not have nuggets. Any chance they are on there and just not listed?

Anyone have any advice? (please no suggestions to get him to eat other things--not gonna happen and not ruining our vacation trying it)

If I picked up a fast food meal and brought it to a table service restaurant (not buffet) would that be ok?

Any advice/suggestions is greatly appreciated :)

TIA
Amy

I have one of those kids also so I am interested in the responses. Mine could eat cereal 5 times a day (think Seinfeld). We are doing the DDP simply because he will still be counted as a kid so I wont be wasting too much on food for him, plus he can share and in the rare instance there is something that he likes on one of our plates I can go back and get him the same thing. Mine just in the last month ate steak :scared1: and actually like it. He will also eat hibachi shrimp  he has aquired expensive taste. My little brother ate nothing but cheese puffs, sliced American cheese and cheese pizza until he was 9 then it was scallops, shrimp, steak. Hopefully your son will turn a corner. Now as for Disney, lets find those nuggies!

I have one of those too, although this last trip he decided he liked the pizza on the kids' menus at Epcot--to my everlasting delight! I can't help much as most of our character experiences have been breakfast, but I can tell you that CRT lunch and CP dinner both have chicken nuggets :).

He also loves the nuggets at H&V (the best ever! according to him, even though they look the same as the nuggets he gets anywhere :rotfl: ). Boma and Yak & Yeti both have nuggets as well. Truthfully Epcot proved to be the hardest last year, as most of their restaurants seem to offer pizza but not nuggets :confused3 .

It's late and I'm having a brain freeze, but if I remember any other TS places with nuggets I'll post ;).

While I've never had any experience for this particular issue, it is a fairly good chance that there would be nuggets on the kid's section of the buffet - they seem to be pretty ubiquitous on buffets.

Also, it wouldn't hurt to ask the kitchen (via your server) if they could bring you a plate if they are not actually on the buffet. In past visits to this restaurant we've had great treatment from the chef/kitchen for special needs - in general, if they can get their hands on it they will send it to you, and the CS there at the grand floridian has nuggets so they should be able to get ahold of them in the kitchen. :thumbsup2

I was just in the world this past September with my very picky eater, DD4.

The buffets were easy. She found at least one or two items she liked. (seriously) At Coral Reef, I asked the waiter if we could have just plain pasta with butter, and they delivered. I brought cereal and PBJ with us for the room, and that is what she ate most often. We had free dining, which was great because otherwise I would have been banging my head against the wall over the cost. She would not touch the mac & cheese anywhere; although she still talks about the pizza at Akershus. I think the waiters and chefs are pretty accommodating, where ever you go!

You are lucky your child will eat chicken nuggets. I wish I could get DD to eat chicken/pork/fish/red meat, in any form!!

Ah PrincessDreams2...you might *think* chicken nuggets is envy worthy but trust me...it gets sooooo old. I would seriously give my right arm to be able to serve him pizza or a pasta or (dreaming big here) *gasp* a VEGETABLE. lol

I think I have decided to decide where Dh and I want to eat and throw a cereal bar into the backpack for ds. If they have something, great, if not we can save his credit.

:)
