I am in the planning stages for our February trip. I have three children so it looks like we will have to stay in a deluxe hotel. I love everything I have read about the BC. Since it will be February my kids may not be able to use the great pool there. So, is it really worth the extra money? I know that Port Orleans can have 5 in a room but the Alligator Bayou section does not appeal to me. I would love to stay in the Manisions but no trundle beds there. BC veterans I look forward to your responses. :earboy2:

YES.... we stayed for 8 days and only used the pool once so it was not the primary reason for staying there,,,the grounds are lovely with the beach and theaming...the walk over to EPCOT was perfect as our girls were 8 and 4 and EPCOT was not a whole day park for us...it was nice to walk over and do something early or late such as catch the fireworks on a waterpark or AK day...boat ride to MGM was so convinient...we have horiible memories of trying to catch a bus back to POR after fantasmic in the past.....

I have never stayed at the bayou section, but you need to consider how much time will you spend in the room...we actually really like the whole POR resort also...boat to DTD is fun.....food court is sooooo convinient with kids...not available at BC and we found getting a quick breakfast there a little frustrating...

I don't think you will go wrong either way...if it sounds like more than you really want to spend at BC the go POR they are both nice...just be warned that once you stay deluxe it is hard to consider mod again...

if you have any more specific questions please ask...:)

Since we spend so much of our time in the parks I don't think the deluxes are worth the money to us. We don't use the babysitting and we don't usually do sit down meals at the resorts so to us we don't spend the money for the deluxe. Ask yourself which of the amenities BC has that POR doesn't that you may use. We have stayed at POR and enjoyed it. I'm with you the theme isn't my favorite but it has the trundle bed. One other thought, many say once you stay deluxe you can't go back so if you think you might be happy at POR give it a try you can always go deluxe next time or when your youngest outgrows the trundle bed. There is a significant difference in price between POR and BC, only you know if it is worth it or not for your family.

yes...even without the pool, it is still one of the best resorts just for it's great location...so much to do within walking distance

the great pool is just a big bonus.

we went in feb last year and were able to use the pool comfortably 2 out of 6 days

The BC is a beautiful resort, and I love the location. The pool is amazing, but I didn't book BC for our December trip because I worried that the kids wouldn't get to use the pool as much because of the cold and honestly we spend more time at MK. We are staying at the Poly and GF for this trip and saving the BC for a trip during warmer weather. It's tough to pass up being able to get up and walk right out to the monorail and be at the MK in minutes! :earsgirl:

I think you can expand your search a little bit too. A deluxe isn't your only option for 5 people. You could book adjoining rooms at a value resort or even a cabin at Fort Wilderness will save you a few hundred dollars. Plus you have the added convenience of your own kitchen and separate bedroom. I've noticed in your signature line that you've stayed in Fort Wilderness previously, so you would probably know about the movie night, campfire, petting farm and other fun activities if the weather is too cool for swimming. Just another option for you.

Even without the pool I would take the BC anyday. It's such a beautiful resort. Also remember you not only have great access to EPCOT but everything the Boardwalk has to offer also!

Yes, I would and will stay at BC/YC in Feb, have stayed at BWI twice in FEb. While it isn't always warm enough for ME to swim, my kids did almost every day we were in WDW both Feb. trips! The pools are heated and there are hot tubs and when you come from Michigan in Feb., even upper 60's seems tropical. Also, many a corona and margarehitas have been consumed by DH and I sitting in our Disney sweatshirts while our kids swam happily! ;)
