Anyone else in the mid-Atlantic facing these horrible creatures? I'd never even heard of them until last year, never seen one in my own house until this fall, and now am seeing (and catching and flushing) them more than once a day! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

I have major bug/insect phobias and this is killing me. I have told my husband I will be moving out for a couple of months the next time the 17 year cicadas visit. I still have trauma from that - had to get the neighbor kids to carry in my groceries because I would run from my car to the door! And I still had one land on me! Ugh.....

What can I do?

Yes!! We have had tons of these up here in MA. Really annoying and creepy when they buzz my head while sitting at the computer. No idea how they are getting into the house either but I seem to find them every day when I wake up. I wish they would all go away!

I live mere minutes from what they are calling "ground zero" for where they were first found in the USA. So, yes, we have a lot of them. Of course we've been fighting them for a few years, so we've learned techniques to keep them out of the house. However, they're still everywhere outside.

YES! well sort of. My boyfriend's sister (and her family) who live in MD have been dealing with them. And last week, when they came up and I was driving their car, I was greeted by one of those nasty things on the window. I almost got into an accident trying to kill the thing.

The news said they are on their way up here. I will be SO happy if they skip NY.

YES..I vacuum them up and have DH empty the vacuum..I hate squishing bugs..grosses me out.

They are everywhere here. Stinking up the place and buzzing everywhere. We flush them, squish them, let them out, vaccumn them up. I hope it cools off soon as they are driving me nuts!

UGH! I hate these things! I get them bad now in fall and spring. Where do they go during the winter and summer? Can't they live there the whole time?

There's pretty much nothing you can do though. You can eliminate the current ones you have but the next batch will just come right in. The only thing you can do is try to close off any access they have into your house via holes and not so well sealed doors/windows.
