I am ordering pants from lands end and they need an inseam measurement. I have never had to do this! I have always gotten "short" and they have fit just right. I measured a pair of pants that fit and it was 34". I know that cant be right. But it was the inside leg measurement. It seems like it should be around 30" if I remember from when I bought jeans that way, but I'm not positive. Since I am ordering online I dont want them to be wrong!

Any insight would be appreciated!

I believe it's 27-28 short, 29-30 average, 31-31 long.

Thanks. that sounds like what I remember, but I am scared they will be too short. Nothing like a chubby old broad in high-waters!:lmao:

Oh, and I have long hair too!

How tall are you? I have a 28 length & I'm 5'2" & 3/4.

I am 5'9" and always get "talls" which are anywhere from 31-34.

My 6'4" DS wears a 34" inseam.

I'm not thinking your pants are 34" inseam. :lmao:

You didn't measure up one leg and down the other, did you? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm pretty sure you need to be taking the measurement standing up. Someone needs to do it for you.

Dont use Joey Tribbianis Tailor!:sad2:

See why I had to ask first? :lmao:

I knew that couldnt be right!

You could always cuff 'em. Cuffs are back in style, aren't they? Or was that last season?

30" is generally what I see for short/petite pants.

But I'm so short that 30" is too long. I order my pants from Delia's, because they stock 26", 28", 30", 32", 34", and 36" inseams. The 26" is new; I had been getting the 28" but I'll get the 26" now. Of course, when I actually worked at Delia's and got a 40% discount on everything, they only had 32" and 34". I guess they realized that there are short people out there.

I know LE will hem for free, but since I can never figure it out, I end up ordering "unhemmed" and go to my local tailor. And yes, I know if I could figere this out I could save $8 in hemming fees.

Just pick a pair that fits well. Lay them on the bed flat. Hold measuring tape at crotch seam and smooth it down the flat pant leg to the bottom. LE is realy good about returns. They will take the return even on a custom item.

I think about a 32'' is normal, but I am about 5'9'' or 5'10'' and the pants that fit me best are a 34'', I think - I can easily find "long" jeans, but dress pants and khakis, that is another battle! (and expensive too, sometimes I wish I was just a normal height!)

Ugh, no kidding. I am only 5'8", but I am all legs . My inseam is 36"! I also wear a 2, so usually if they have the length, the waist size is bigger.

My sister has a 28" inseam, and she has fun finding clothes that fit also.
