Help - I'm MS Office-Challenged! :)

Hello everyone,

I am wanting to make - what seems simple-enough to me - a little "songbook" for my family for Christmas Eve.

I just want to use 8.5x11 paper. I'd like to fold it in half, essentially producing pages that are 5.5x8.5. Then, I'll staple the it down the center.

Which MS Office product could I use to create this? I see mention of a "folded booklet" in MS Word - but it appears to be wanting me to fold the paper over twice - resulting in text printing "upside down" if I fold it only as I'm wanting to.... If that makes ANY sense, at all.

I had a friend suggest looking at MS Publisher - but I'm not familiar with it. If any of you ARE - could you just get me started? Which option should I choose to try and achieve this?

I would open up a Word document.
Go under "Format" and click columns.
Select the one that shows two columns.

Go to "File", then page setup to select the way you want the document to face.

That's pretty much it.

Thanks a bunch for your response....

...but if I'm doing a multi-page book - then I'm going to have several pages laying on top of each other, and I'll fold them all in half at one time, and staple down the middle.

I'll need software intuitive enough to figure out how to arrange my pages so that they will appear in the proper order after the paper has been folded in half.

Does that make sense?

You can do it all right in word like you would do any other document.

Type it all up into a larger font. Then when you get to the printing part go to properties. Click on double sided printing, and either right or left edge booklet.
