Help I'm Green!

We are a group of 20+ going on July 29 this summer. We booked through DU last June and have nothing but praise for our different agents. (Different ones for different families.) It is so nice to have someone on top of things to let you know when deposits are due, when PS's need to be made, when your final payment is due so you don't lose the reservation., to actually make your PS's... etc. They will help you with an itinerary as detailed as you want, they've been to WDW many times and can answer just about any question you come up with. If your agent can't answer it, he/she will find another DU agent who can.
They have always answered our questions within 24 hours, and we can't say enough nice things.

Thanks for replying I'm about to book with them but I wasnt gettting any replies to an earlier ?.

ALso this might be a crazy ? but I'm trying to figure out how to work this board. I went on my email an hour ago and WOW I
was shocked at all the reminders sent to me saying I had replies.
Do people use this option or just check the replies on the board?

the Boards can be a bit overwhelming at first, but just jump in there... people are really nice and helpful and no question is too dumb. If someone does tell you that you've asked a dumb question, have no fear ... several people will then jump in and say that that person is a rude pig!!! ;)

As far as all the e-mails, when you post, look at the bottom of the message screen BEFORE you hit "Submit reply" ... if the option that says "E-mail notification" is checked, then you will get an e-mail notice every time someone responds to the thread. It's great if you are looking for lots of different answers to your question, and it can be a pain if you are just randomly posting to help someone else. If you are getting e-mails about a thread and you don't want to, there is a link on each e-mail to click to "unsubscribe to this thread." If this doesn't make sense, let me know.

I really think you'll be pleased with DU. If you don't get a pretty quick answer from them, post here that there's a problem and someone will help you out. They monitor these boards pretty closely and I think it's hard to fall through the cracks!

When are you going? First time??? You'll get more help than you thought possible here!!!

We just returned from a trip booked through Dreams Unlimited (May 31 through June 6). I cannot say enough about what a great experience it was. We will DEFINITELY use them again!!!! If you decide to use them, I don't think you will be anything but completely happy. I haven't heard anything but high praise for them!!!

I can't offer you any help with your Dreams Unlimited question, but I can help you with the DIS.

When you post to ask a specific question, you may want to put the topic in your subject line. For example, "Help, I'm Green" doesn't have anything to do with Dreams Unlimited. Lots of folks go by the title when they decide what posts to open, and you may be losing out on the expertise of folks who ignore your post because of the title. You might want to consider using something like "Dreams Unlimited--Anyone use them?" for this type of question.

And please be patient when waiting for your responses. Although many times questions are answered within a few minutes, sometimes, things aren't answered right away. The moderators on these boards are very good about answering questions if they can, and if they can't they'll bump them up in case people missed them. It's very rare to have a question completely ignored around here.

Also, explore the other boards, and try to put your question on the most appropriate board. I know I moved a couple of your posts last night to put them in a more appropriate place where you would get a quicker response, and more accurate response to your request. If you have questions about resorts, you're in the in the right place. If you have questions about theme parks, look for the theme park attractions and strategies boards. If you want to just share a random story or say, "Gee, I'm having a great time on the DIS," then head on over to the community board.

I am using DU for the first time this summer. I have been reading about them on DIS since our trip last summer. I have been very happy with the service our agent Bob has given us.
 
You can't be that green if you have been lurking for over a Year!!:teeth: :teeth: Seriously though TLINDEN 16 gave you some good advice...I would add if you are simply replying to a comment someone made to one of your threads just post a reply on that thread-don't start a new one--Good Luck learning the boards
 
I've used DU several times now. Love them. They are right on top of things. I don't have to worry about getting the best rate. In fact, I've changed my resort several times now, with the AP rate and my agent hasn't even blinked an eye. At least I don't think she has!!! I would happily recommend DU to anyone.
 
Regarding e-mail notifications - you can change your default setting on that by going to user cp on the top of the page of any forum.

under the heading "Messaging & Notification" set "Use 'Email Notification' by default?" to no and you will not have to change the setting on each and every post. It will be "defaulted" to no.
