Help! I'm a DLRP Menu addict!!

I wish I had seen this sooner. To me dining is a key part of a Disney vacation. I have had the dubious (and fattening) pleasure of dining in every restaurant in DLP (and many in the surrounding towns and villages), most signature restaurants in WDW and all the signature restaurants in DL.

when DLP is on form, they have some of the better dining experiences in the disney universe.

I look forward to reading more on this thread.

The moral of the story is never order the set menu or go on dining plan. we order a la carte and have had excellent meals over a dozen times there. The steakhouse and California Grill are the only others with such consistant quality.

Sorry Dave but I have to disagree with you on this one. We have had excellent meals on set menu/half board plus throughout our visits to DLP

That's good to hear...

Personally, I'd be a bit annoyed if a restaurant skipped on its quality for the set menu - I believe they should provide the same service no matter how you pay or whether you order a la carte or from the set menu.

I'm pleased with this thread as it means that we get a wide array of thoughts on various places- It makes a nice change as most people on review sites (Such as the food guide) only bother writing reviews if the food was either terrible or amazing.... Its nice to see some middle ground, and its nice to see a lot of different opinions........ :goodvibes

I agree on the matter of pricing... I think though that when some people order off set menus they have at least one course they aren't keen because the choices are more restricted. If there was a set menu with everything I wanted on it, I would more than likely order that.... But if I didn't fancy certain things, I would probably just order a la carte...... I think its all down to what suits people best.

I agree, but I have found in my experience that sadly this is not always the case, hence why we buy a la carte and pay for it then. The times where we have done otherwise, we have had lesser experiences at DLP and WDW

I love menus! I've been reading the DLPFoodguide most of the day....... :cloud9:

annette's - i love the new greatest hits menu - chilli cheese dog, bacon cheese burger and chicken burrito, with fries - 19 euro. add a pint of Cherry coke and follow with a sundae or milkshake - yum.

Pizza and pasta are two good options for the overrated CM.

yes i think i saw the greatest hits menu on your post it looked great would feed me and my lo 22 months lol.and i get to try more than one thing i love that.

ugh changes to my meal plan. so as i have said i have super fussy people going with me. we want to stick together so we have decided on a compromise. we are going to eat at anettes and the steakhouse and do the plaza birthday tea party for my sis with mcdonalds that night to fill the void. other that that they just wanna grab a burger at counter service and the one day i have left to fill is still open. not sure what to do with it yet. i would really love to fit in another sit down meal. they will not eat in walts or the blue lagoon any other ideas im all out

How about one of Ludwig's, Rainforest or Planet Hollywood?

Of those 3, we prefer Ludwig's but all of them are pretty good.

Why don't you go to the Rainforest Cafe? We ate there and loved it. It's good fun, and it does pretty basic fayre like burgers and pastas....Another option would be Planet Hollywood, but I personally wouldn't recommend it there- We thought the food was pretty horrible. King Ludwigs is mainly German fayre, but if I recall they do steak and some sort of burger, so thats another option for you. Theres also the Silver Spur Steakhouse in the park, but I don't know if you wouldn't want to go there because you're already visiting a steakhouse? After that theres mainly the hotel restaurants, such as The Yacht Club, California Grill, etc (I would say the Manhattan but that, I believe, is closed at the moment.).

If you fancied a buffet theres also the hotel buffets, such as Inventions, Cape Cod, Parkside Diner, Hunters Grill (Which is part buffet, part sit down meal I think.....), etc.

Hope thats given you a few more choices!

I think when I go next week I'll have to take some piccies of the menu boards.

If all us DISers did that then eventually we would have the full list that we could keep up to date ourselves.

Plus it would give certain DLP Menu addicts ( that shall remain pretty obvious ) an instant fix!
