I'm a Disney Virgin. I admit it. At one point, my DH told me that he would never take me to Disney, because I'm not big on rides.
So, Dh has put me in an interesting situation. His company just won a contract in Coco Beach. Because DH has worked with this site in the past, he has been told that he is high on the list of people that will be heading there for two weeks to set up the site. He was already talking about taking our 2.5 DS and I with him to enjoy the beach when I jokingly mentioned Disney. We both glanced at our DS as he watched Toy Story 2 for the billionth time and said, sure why not.
So here's my dilemna. I have to plan a trip. I don't know when it will be. I don't even know for sure if it will even happen. In all probability, Dh will find out that he is going and that night I will be expected to tell him where I want to stay for the Friday and Saturday night that we want to go to Disney so he can try to get us a room. DS is 35" tall, so I know that our ride experiences will be limited, which is fine, because we just need to meet Buzz to make this trip worth every penny.
So, having never been to the happiest place on earth, I don't know if there is even anything to plan, aside from getting DS some type of ID, a fanny pack and an autograph book. I know that we could easily spend a day a Magic Kingdom and that we HAVE to go to MGM, but I'm also thinking that Animal Kingdom might be nice, but then again we only have 2 days. Because I don't know when we are going, I can't plan any character meals, not that I could figure out what ones to go with in the first place.
Do we have to prepurchase tickets? Can we just walk up to the gates on the day in question and buy tickets? Is there some "master" list of characters that might be out that we could look over? Is there anything that a 30 year old first timer shouldn't miss? What about a 2.5 year old first timer? Can someone calm me down just a little so that I can start to enjoy the thrill of possibly taking DS to meet Buzz and Mickey?
Thanks
Kerry
