I need help planning a special day for me and my mom while at WDW end of November.

A day at the spa is not for us. If it was that would have been a very obvious choice. Unfortunately, that just is not the case.

Does anyone have a good idea beyond a special meal for a Mother and Daughter to do. We were thinking about doing a tour; but not sure it is worth the expense or not. All suggestions welcomed! And all help is very much appreciated!

Thanks! Looking for so really good ideas!

What about Afternoon Tea at the GF?

My mom and I took the Keys to the Kingdom tour one year. Really lots of fun.

:earsboy:

are either of you gardeners? i read of a special garden tour on thursdays(?) at the grand floridian... or the garden tour at epcot (not too costly if i remember correctly)

do you enjoy bike riding or horseback riding? both are offered at ft wilderness and bikes are offered at many resorts... or carriage ride at fw?

perhaps boating or a specialty cruise?

music your thing? jellyrolls is fun... grand floridian has piano/jazz band in the lobby... would go well w/afternoon tea...

perhaps a resort tour? (collecting pressed pennies?)

are you shoppers? maybe "shop around the world" thru epcot's world showcase...

segway tour at epcot could be fun...

are you golfers? or maybe just mini-golfers...

parasailing? divequest in the aquarium at the living seas? dolphin swim?

i am sure that whatever you and your mom decide to do, it will be a memorable day for both of you... ENJOY!

Hi! I spent 6 days in WDW with just my mom last year. I'm 20 and she's 47. Things we enjoyed besides the parks.......
dinner at world showcase (my mom fell in love w/out waiter at Alfredo's...too funny) or any other nicer restaurant
downtown disney
Boardwalk
Resort hopping on the monorail and boats to see all the hotels

There are also things like the cirque du soleil (not our cup of tea, but lots of people love it), pleasure island, golfing, and i'm sure many other things that I may not know about. Just wanted to leave you a few ideas though.

Without a doubt, afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian. My daughter and I did it last year and plan to do it every year we return--our new tradition!

I suggest the tea, too, but I would go one step further and order in advance the GORGEOUS Cinderella Glass Slipper Dessert and have them write a sweet message on the plate in chocolate. Check out the restaurant board for more info on it, there are loads of threads about it and pictures. I treated my mom to lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe for her belated bday and MDay and surprised her with them, and she was blown away - plus, they arent on the menu, so you get some curious guests dying to know how you knew about them!

The GF is just gorgeous, and a nice place to relax... we were going to do the tea but the time didn't work for us. Its in the afternoons, obviously.

What about doing that, and then treating her to dinner at California Grill and timing it with Wishes? That would be a great way to end the day! Between those, I would browse through World Showcase, myself, since I think that's the most relaxing and fun place at WDW for adults. =)

Have fun!
