HELP!!!!! Ideas and creativity needed!!!!! PLEASE??!?!?!?

And they can't use tissues, foil, trash bags, paper plates, cups, toilet paper or other every day items?

I get that some people like their 'brands'... but if I'm out of toilet paper....I'll use whatever I had shoved in the back of the cabinet.

Same with my plastic wrap or foil. If I run out.....I'll use whatever my kids can come back with from downstairs. It's nice to have an emergency backup.
The pledge and air freshener was a joke..... sheesh...even on TV the febreeze commercials show them spraying down the guys favorite chair.

I'm glad so many people here have never fought with their spouse over something simple like toilet paper or grapes.

I've been married 14 years...and I've had my share of stupid arguments. I'm not proud of them...but I won't lie and say it's never happened.

If I got things that were not the brand I used, I'd be posting on facebook the next day to get rid of them. They wouldn't be hanging around to clutter the house. I have my preferred brands for specific reasons - like I won't use anything but puffs plus because otherwise my nose will be raw.

I'm sensitive to scents, so the pledge and the air freshener would be gone - after giving me a huge sneezing fit and possibly a migraine. :) (And don't even get me started on febreeze! Most people wouldn't think of me as being sensitive to scents because I love fruity and candy scented things. Anything with floral or pine elements to it will give me a migraine. I can't tell you how many friends have said that they had no idea since I rarely get anything unscented that I was sensitive to any scent.)

While *you* might use whatever your kids bring from downstairs, not everyone would. A lot of people wouldn't even *have* something that wasn't their favorite brand in the house. If they're eco-friendly, they would possibly even be insulted by paper plates and cups. I certainly wouldn't use any TP but my brand on my 'parts' (yes, I even bring a few rolls on vacation).

Whenever I've had to give a gift to someone I didn't know very well, I always went as general as possible - nothing scented, something just about anyone would be able to use, etc. I'd rather give an impersonal gift card than have the receiver go "Well, I used up all my stuff might as well use the junk Agri gave me."

As a PP suggested, you might want to wrap them individually and number them and create a little "story" or poem or whatever to go with the gift. It might entail you actually being part of the opening of the gift, so you could read the story while your bride is opening it. It could be a really fun thing to do if it is done right.

Thank you :)

I just have to say....you ARE good at this!!! I've reread that to my mom and both my kids....we are still cracking up!!!!

It is nice that you are trying to be creative, but I have to admit, none of those items would get used in our house. We don't use things like disposable plates/cups, not even for parties. We also buy only certain toilet paper and cleaning products.

Some of the creative things people did for me that I did like-

I got a beautiful salt and pepper shaker with a cute/silly poem about a recipe for the perfect marriage.

I got a recipe box filled with recipes from family members and friends.

Someone framed our wedding invitation (LOVED that and I have it up in our hallway! I look at it everyday and smile)

We got a gift certificate to a nice local restaurant (for our first "date" as a married couple).

Someone bought us the water pitcher from our registry and filled it with Disney dollars for our honeymoon! That was awesome...but specific to us, since they knew where we were going.

I got some wonderful cookbooks that weren't on our registry and people paired them with a couple trinkets from our registry such as spatulas, spoons, or a can opener (the can opener in case dinner didn't turn out ;))

Good luck

They are already in a house....I wanted to give them things they could use. Things that people don't give as gifts.

I looked at their registries....and frankly, I don't want to buy a toilet, $200 serving platter, or $500 grill.

I was just trying to add a spin to it.

If they are already in a house, I'm pretty sure they have toilet paper and air freshener. If you want to do themey, why not put together a great basket. You could do a wine basket or a picnic basket. I can tell you want to be original and cute, but I think you are going in the wrong direction.
