Hi everyone! I feel like a total idiot. Plus, Pam is SO NICE and I feel like I am a completely annoying bridezilla to her right now (not that she would ever make me feel that way, I just do.)

Anyway, we filled out our room block and she said (and the Wishbook says) that your minimum is based on your number of guests 10-40 guests you have to have 25 nights, 41-60 you have to have 50 nights, etc... So we put what we 'thought' would maybe happen since we were told not to worry because it was just an estimate. We will have around 40 guests, and estimated about 77 room nights. We have 4 hotels so we spread them out among the 4.

We just looked over the contract and noticed the policy and went YIKES!!! I emailed Pam and she said we can fix it and it's ok, but how did I mess this up :confused3 I never knew it was really a serious thing when you estimated your block. So now I have to change it all. How did everyone guess how many rooms to block?? She said if we don't block enough and people need more they can get the discount, but only if there is availability. I don't want to risk telling my guests they get a discount and then WDW telling them no. Thanks for letting me vent!!! I'm such a moron!! :goodvibes

I must be unclear on the room block thing too. I was told my 50 rooms were too many to block for 90 people...which I don't understand!

Make sure you have your em explain it in detail. Our room block filled for the boardwalk and now my fiance is staying without his family the night before our wedding because people we didn't think would stay at the boardwalk are, and the hotel is all booked!

Good luck with it!

Your block is totally based on your guaranteed number of nights - which can be based on your guest count. If you guarantee 50 nights then you block 60 (guarantee plus 20%). Because we did not want to guarantee more than 50 nights just in case we blocked 60 and are at around 110 nights with less than 2 months to go. We encouraged our guests to book early (and surprisingly they did) to ensure the discounted rates were available as our wedding is during the Food and Wine fest. Luckily our resorts are not full yet so that we have been able to get the discount on the rooms after the block was full.
