Help! I think I'm going to lose points!

Help! I'm buying a resale contract. The use year is April. There are 49 points left from 2008. We aren't planning a trip until June. Is it to late to bank the 49 points?

I think the banking deadline for April UY would have been 11/30. I think earlier in the month someone posted a question about banking late...I think they were able to bank because Disney offers a "once in your contract" oppt. to bank points late. I am not sure you would want to use your only chance for those points. I guess all you can do is ask Disney once you close what your options are. If you can't bank them, you could try to rent/transfer them to another member. Good luck!!!

Since that is pretty short notice and any trip those are used for would have to be done before March 31, I guess I'd go ahead and try for the once in a lifetime banking thing. On the other hand, I assume you are not paying maintenance fees on the 2008 points so close to the end of that use year, so maybe you just chalk it up to "oh well".

Are you sure the current owner did not bank the 2008 points? I just closed a week ago on a 2008 resale and the 2008 points were banked for the Feb use year. If you have not received a copy of the current owners point statement I would request it. I was able to see mine. I am struggling now to get in the system so I can use 200 banked 2007 points that expire 1/31 but each day I call and I'm waiting to be put in. I'm not really losing anything since I did not pay for those points or the 2008 points but I've kind of talked myself into a Jan trip and there will likely be no rooms left. Oh well...........
