Help!!!...i Think I'm About To Lose 134 Dec 2006 Pts

I need some help. We have a split stay scheduled 1-13-08 thru 1-19-08 at BCV and AKV. 134 of the pts are from 12/2006 use year. My GF is 95% of the way to getting accepted into a nursing program at a local hospital.
Here's where we run into the problem. The program starts 1-7-08, and runs for 3 months. She was told today if she gets accepted, she cannot miss even 1 day. I do not want to go without her, needless to say with 4 kids. And she does not want to miss out!

My question is if I change the reservation before 12-1-07, which is when the new use year begins, can I make a new reservation for later in the spring and not lose the 134 pts for 12-06 use year that are part of the existing reservation?? I am so afraid I am going to get someone in MS who is going to give me incorrect information as this has happened on other issues before.

If you have a booking for Jan then the 12/06 points must have been banked into your 12/07 UY. Banking into your 12/07 UY means they are available for any reservation before 11/30/08. As long as you cancel before the 31 day mark all points go back into the 12/07 UY account. If cancelled under the 31 day mark they go into a holding account.

Thanks for the info Claire. This was only our 2nd scheduled vacation as owners and sometimes the points process can be a bit confusing. I feel a lot better now.
