Hi All,
I am hoping someone can help me come up with some ideas  for a gift exchange we are having on our cruise next week.
The item is to be unique or representative of where you come from, we are in Alberta.
So I know the first item that comes to mind is Canadian Maple syrup...but that is not Western Canadian....
I don't want to bring a magazine like Canadian living, as I was hoping to more inspiring...

Any thoughts as to what i could bring? The value of the item(s) is to be around $10.00 max.

Looking forward to your feedback... we leave this Thurs :woohoo: so it is typical of me to procrastinate...:lmao:

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Can of Tim Horton's Coffee, or one of those Timmies gift packs with the mugs.

A small basket of Coffee Crisp, Aero, Smarties chocolate bars.

Chocolate loonies and toonies (can't remember what store I saw them in)

Corner Gas DVD

Anything for the Winter Olympics out yet, tshirts, hats?

There are lots of winter olympic stuff out for 2010. Check your local Zellers or Bay. In fact, over Christmas the Bay had an extra 50% off all of the olympic stuff, even for the upcoming one.

Another suggestion would be a toque. Very Cdn & very fitting of the cold climate you live in.

IMO, distinctly Western Canadian gifts could include 2010 Olympic gear, smoked salmon, mini totems, Okanagan wine, etc.

Have a great cruise! :goodvibes

10 dollars max doesn't give you may options.

Anything with a loon or a moose on it (or a maple leaf) is good. I work at the Royal Canadian Mint and there are some great gifts that travel well on mint.ca - both Olympic themed and just Canadian themed.

Hope your cruise is amazing!

Callebaut chocolates is based out of Calgary - nothing more western than a Belgium chocolate, eh!

Barack Obama was here in Ottawa this week and he picked up a moose keychain and some maple flag cookies to take home to his kids!

One good "trading" gift are lapel pins.....your MLA/MP office will usually give you some at no cost. (We took Canadian and Saskatchewan flag pins). And....Saskatoon berry jam is always a good trading treat::love:

Thanks Everyone! Super suggestions!!!
We are off in 3 sleeps!! Look out Magic here we come!!
