This is my first time on DCL. I really need to change my seating from the second seating to the first seating. My husband and I will be traveling with DS (3yrs) and twins DD and DS (16mo). They will never make it until 8:30pm to eat, let alone stay awake that late! My inlaws are also coming to help out with the kids but I wanted to be able to eat together at least a couple of times. Does anyone have any tips for getting the early seating? Is it possible for them to sleep in the nursery? Oh, one more question. How do you know your dinner rotation?

Thanks for any help! :wave2:

We cruised on the Wonder in December of 2001. My DD was then 2 1/2. We were assigned second seating. Right after we boarded, we went to, I believe, the Studio Sea night club where the CM was able to easily change us to first seating. We also were given a table for just us 3, since we did have a toddler. I don't think you'll have any trouble - ask at the desk in the terminal when you check in - they should have the information where on the ship you need to go to make the change.

Good luck.:wave2: :wave2:

Don't just wait until you board. Call your TA or DCL now, and try to get on the waiting list (if one has formed). You may get changed before check-in (in your docs when they arrive) or may find out at check-in.

If you don't have main seating by the time your KTTY card is issued at check-in, immediately go to the designated station on ship after boarding and make the request (usually Deck 3 forward). They make the changes first-come, first serve until there are no tables left.

If you have to also make the request on-ship, they'll usually notify you by putting a message on your cabin phone's voice mail around 4:00 P.M.

Good Luck!

When we sailed this past May our friend's 7 month old would nap in the Nursery when we were at dinner. She never though he would nap in a strange place but the counselors in Flounders said he nodded off each night after they left.

Call DCL now...either directly if you booked directly or thru your TA if you used one. Tell them that you NEED early seating and that you want to be on the wait list if they can't give it to you right now. When you get your documents, your dining seating will be listed.

THen, when you board, go to your stateroom and check your dinner tickets. IF your assignment doesn't say "early seating", then go to Sessions (or wherever they might have designated dining changes...I've been told that they sometimes change it, but it's in the Navigator) and tell them that you need to change.

We've always had our dining requests met, although sometimes they are not met till we are on the ship.

If you are on the waiting list, you could be moved to early any time before boarding...they won't notify you, they'll just do it.

We had late seating and put in a request for early seating from day one. Even though we didn't have a confirmation of early seating prior to boarding, when we checked with the CM handling seating changes on board (they were doing it in Wavebands, next to the CM taking Palo reservations), we found that we already had been moved.

You'll know your dinner rotation once you receive your KTTW card. There will be a string of letters corresponding to the first letter of the restaurants' names. For our four-day, for example, it was PTAP or Parrot Cay, Triton's, Animator's Palate, Parrot Cay. For a three-day or seven-day I would assume you'd have a three or seven letter string, but I don't know for certain.

I am on the wait list for first seating, I am just starting to get nervous because I hadn't heard anything and we are getting close to sailing. 1-25-04 I can't wait!:hyper:
