It’s about 11 p.m. here in Grass Valley and the mountains are quiet except the little compressor humming in the corner of the shop. I’ve got the most complex private commission laid out on the bench.

I was laying in the midnight blue tonight, watching the paint flow (it’s how I meditate), and it hit me how spoiled we are these days. When I was growing up, if you wanted to feel close to Disney between trips you had to hope your grainy Disney VHS held together. Now? There are folks out there who wake up, hit record, and somehow bottle that same magic we all chase, only they hand it out for free every week.

Except… now it’s getting canned. AI is generating content and the artists are getting lost in the noise.

So while the paint dries and the mountains keep me company, I’m curious: who’s your person? That one Disney creator (YouTuber, podcaster, Instagrammer, whatever) who feels like they’re talking straight to your heart? The one you click on the second you see a new video because you know it’s gonna make a rough day better?

Tell me their name and the little story of why they matter to you. I’ll be right here with a cup of coffee waiting for inspiration to hit.

Pic so I don’t get lost.

Much love from the foothills,

I am from Ireland and I didnt grow up going to Disney parks. I was one of those kids in the 1980's and 1990's wearing out the Disney VHS video tapes.

I have been privileged as an adult to have the money and time to travel to Disney Parks and to go on Disney Cruises.

In the long dark days of winter, when the sunshine and warmth of Disneyland California seem so far aware, the Disney creators I turn to to capture that Disney Magic are the CM's on Youtube. There are many of them, from the Disney College Program and the Disney International Representative Program to the Cruise Ship performers. It is so heartwarming to follow their journey as they experience the job of a life time. Their love of their craft, and talent, and their joy at working for the Walt Disney Company, keeps me going when the Seasonal Affective Disorder hits.
