HELP! I need money saving advice!

To OP, have you considered driving? As there are 5 of you it could be quite a bit cheaper than the Eurostar and you can use tesco clubcard vouchers to pay for the eurotunnel crossing. :goodvibes

Next year easter friday is 29th March.

I have driven over before and got the ferry, never used the Eurotunnel and to be honest it was fab! I did it with my oldest school friend and it took all in all, about 15 hours (I live in York!) it was such a good girly trip. I have broached the idea of driving with my OH because I'm totally up for it but he is gets so stressy when he's driving somewhere unfamiliar and my little girl is that bit older now (she was 3 when we drove and was an absolute gem :) ) I think it would be awkward to say the least.

And I don't actually think it would make much sense economically either. My eurostar tickets usually come out at around £65-69 per person when I book well in advance and with us coming from so far up North it could potentially end up costing more to drive :)

Eurotunnel normally costs us less than £100 return so would probably be cheaper because you would need to factor in the cost of getting down to the Eurostar. I agree though that it would be a very long journey with a child. We are lucky in that respect because we can be at the eurotunnel terminal in less than an hour. :goodvibes

Oh yeah, the ferry was only about £60 I think too which is pretty good value. But I think this last time the train only cost the adults about £19.00 for a return and it only takes two hours which is very persuasive. I think all in all it might be cheaper to drive though, so you're probably right.

When it comes down to it I think you need to look at the whole package and that time we drove, the only way we could work it was if we arrived in the middle of the night, so we basically rocked up at the Cheyenne at 3am (atleast there were no queues to check in :rotfl: ). It always amuses me because my little girl sat and played on the ferry over to Calais with a little French girl, then when as soon as we got back in the car to drive to DLRP she fell straight asleep and literally slept the whole way to Disneyland, then the second we pull in to the Cheyenne carpark she woke up started shouting for Mickey and went all hyper.... Forty five minutes sleep I got that night before hitting the parks!! Forty five minutes!! Lol it was all good though :)
