I'm really struggling with coming up with an idea. I'm not really the creative type when it comes to this kind of stuff, I've been thinking about this for the last few days.

It's for a marketing project. The instructor gave us a small list to pick from if we can't think of anything, but I really want something unique.

The only thing I need is it to be an invention for a target market.

Thanks!

EZ pass system for theme parks. We've been pass holders at BG Williamsburg since forever and I hate waiting in line just to show my pass and be waved through to go park. Sometimes we pay the extra fee to get priority parking, so the system should have an account from which the fee could be deducted. It seems like my sister and I have the best ideas when we're at BG with our kids.

Not to be harsh, but if you want something unique, you should probably be racking your brain trying to come up with something instead of asking strangers to do your homework for you. If it's a marketing project, the grade will be based on the marketing, not the product.

And it only took 2 posts for this comment.....

I don't have an idea off the top of my head, but try and think about your hobbies or something that you like to do and is there something that you wish you had or would make things easier for you. Narrowing down your focus area might be able to help you come up with something.

Really, was this necessary to be harsh (saying "not to be harsh" doesn't make it so)? First, I said I've been thinking about this for the last few days. Second, I know it's about the marketing part. I could use one of his generic ideas, but it'd be fun not to.

How about a car seat that alerts the owner if they leave the baby in the car?

Anything to make life easier is always good. People with babies or the elderly are in need the most. Think of a typical day in the life of this person. What can you do to make life easier. I know something that would make my life easier. I always have trouble making the line perfect with liquid eyeliner. I like the little wing at the corner of the eye. Someone should invent liquid eyeliner in a rubber stamp form so you can just press a perfect straight line on in seconds.

This isn't meant in a snarky way whatsoever, but is it common to forget your kid is in the car? I just don't have kids or know too many people who do so I have no experience with that.

I know people do it on purpose because they think it's fine but it seems like they wouldn't want one telling on them.

Not terribly common, but the consequences are awful. Typically, it's a case where it is outside the routine. Mom usually takes the kid but today Dad needs to. He takes off like any other day, goes straight to work like any other day, a d forgets Jr is asleep in the back.

You know how they have "Angie's List"?

I would like "Mammogram List".

Seriously, there is no "list" for my area in which to figure out WHERE to get a mammogram. I know it sounds dumb, but geesh, it is something so simple that does not exist.

You could partner with Susan G. Koman or other charities.

Anyway, not sure what your marketing target is and if you have to make a profit but there you go. Good Luck. :wave2:

What's something you need or that would make your life easier, and that you think others would use?

Example (that you can't use, you'll see why):

When I was using a walker a few years ago, I needed a tray. Nothing on the market, so I came up wth an idea from things around the house and my sister & brother-in-law jerry-rigged it. They made a few for me and that was it. Today, you can get them from a number of websites. We just didn't think to try selling them. We lost out.

But if you want a unique product, you're the best source.

I thought about years ago about a washer/dryer combo in one.... I did see one available at K-mart years ago that never took off. But I would buy one if a legitimate company made and sold it.

We had an LG one in an old apartment. It took over 6 hours to wash and dry a load:confused3:offtopic:

My parents always talk about when I was a baby they were at my Grandparents and they forgot me there. I'm thinking people who aren't used to having a baby forget about them sometimes.

Ummm... in the Marketing class I took a few years ago, brainstorming with a group was considered to be an important tool in developing product and strategy. If the OP chooses to ask this group for help, then I'd consider that using inititive, and I'm pretty sure my instructor would agree with me.
