Help I Need Info On Christmas At Disney

Hi everyone,
Well we are eagerly awaiting our Disney holiday and cruise next August when Hubbie and me got to talking abot a christmas break!!!!!
Christmas is my favourite time of the year infact I start getting Christmassy around July!
Anyway after years of gentle pursuassion hubbie came home to tell me that he should be in the next christmas leave pattern, well stike while the iron is hot I say but there was no need He suggested it to me
I am so loved up with hubbie at the moment it is untrue
Anyway let's get back on track basically we have looked around to get a kind of idea for prices etc on this years costs( I know things can change but we just wanted to get a rough figure)
Anyway looking at it we could save quite a bit if we flew on Christmas day.
We generally do everything ourselves but I think for two weeks a package would work out better unless any of you can enlighten me.
I was hopeing to do Mickeys special christmas party but that would have finished by then.
So Basically if anyone can help me with any info, pics would be great , I would be very gratfull.
What happens at the parks at Christmas? apart from being manic!!
Do they have special christmas parades,?
Can you go around the Disney hotels ( we are hopeing to stay onsite at Disney will be the cheeper end of the Dis property's)
Just out of interest would anyone know roughly how much a DVC would cost to rent and how you would go about renting one.?
Have any of you done this?
So has you can see these are just a few of my questions .

Im spending my first Christmas at WDW this year and I cant wait!! Ive been told by other people that the parks are quiet up until about the 23rd Dec and then it is manic from then until new year. If possible I would recommend arriving the week before Christmas so that you can enjoy it before it becomes too packed. The parks do run special parades for Christmas, they start in November and I think they run until the end of December. The decorations also go up in November and they are fantastic, it does feel odd tho hearing and seeing all the Christmas stuff when you are in shorts and a t-shirt!!

Remember though, we may be in coats, hats, scarves and gloves as it can be extremely cold. We had frost almost every day.

Hi everyone,

Anyway looking at it we could save quite a bit if we flew on Christmas day.
We saved over £300 each be flying out two days before the school holidays started last Christmas (15th December).

I was hopeing to do Mickeys special christmas party but that would have finished by then.
MVMCP usually finishes the week before Christmas, but the parade, Christmas Wishes and the shows can still be seen in MK. You just don't get the MVMCP night atmosphere etc..

What happens at the parks at Christmas? apart from being manic!!
Do they have special christmas parades,?
The MK Christmas parade from MVMCP replaces the normal parade in MK after MVMCPs finish. There are special fireworks in MK and a special extended Illuminations in Epcot (not to be misses!).
There is also the Candlelight Processional in Epcot - worth a look even if not religious. There is a special atmosphere in the parks with all the decorations etc. There are little special events and happening all the time - just need to keep your eye on the events newsletters and timetables when you enter the parks

Can you go around the Disney hotels
Yes - it's great to resort hop at Christmas. Each resort has it's own tree and decorations. some have special displays like gingerbread houses and chocolate carousels Some also have special events as well

We were in WDW for Christmas last year and I can only describe it as magical. However, the Magic Kingdom is VERY busy on Christmas Day so unless necessary, I would probably avoid it.

Been to WDW twice now at Christmas - and going for our 3rd time this year.

We are flying out on the 9th for 3 weeks & the flight cost was quite a lot cheaper than just before Christmas. Also we will be able to do the parks (hopefully) before the mad rush. Last time we went to Sea World (I Know not DISNEY) on Xmas Day & it was not that packed.

We normally look roundsome of the hotels - it's quite easy to visit the one's on the monorail if you park at MK.

When I have been in late November/start of December its always been really warm, it does cool down in the evenings but during the day it was always hot.

Last time we went it was down to a little over freezing, with the wind chill factor, most days. This is not uncommon either according to locals and they can get snow.

We flew out on Christmas Day last year and made a good saving. My only reservation about doing that again is that you hit Orlando just as the parks are probably at their busiest so you spend much of your holiday queuing. We are flying out on December 14th this year just before the prices go up and are hoping to get a good week or so before the crowds get too big. We wanted to be there for New Year again too so we have just tagged a few extra nights onto the end of the holiday to take us up to 1st January this has proven to be considerably cheaper than flying between 15-24th December and we have 18 nights. The parks are really magical I loved the Osborne lights at MGM it is the most Christmassy I have felt in years & we did MK for NYE which was MANIC but just the best experience. It can be quite cool early in the day but it soon warms up. We were fine in jeans and t-shirts for daytime with a warm fleece for evening. Enjoy your planning

i booked our christmas trip back in jan/feb as soon as the flights opened and i got a really od deal with virgin, cheapest flights we have ever had - we are going 13th Dec to 6th Jan - 1st DVC christmas at SSR. Cant wait but having major dilemma about what clothes to take, only been in summer months before.

We fly out on the 9th and will take a mixture of clothes - trousers & perhaps a couple of pairs of shorts!
Have been before and had really warm weather - I suppose it feels warm to us coming from a freezing UK - but saying that it can hit 70 or 80 if you are lucky but with cooler mornings & evenings. You will need a jacket & the locals will be wearing coats, hats & gloves at the 1st sign of a chill!
We did go a couple of years back at Xmas & it was a lot cooler so be prepared. Hope we fall lucky & manage a few days in the water parks.

We have been visiting family in London and I have been unable to get to a computer!!! anyway we have literally just walked in the door my house looks like , well you don't really want to know but the unpacking can wait I need my dis board fix!!!
