I'm a terrible gift giver to begin with...at least I think so. And when it comes to my wife it can be very difficult because she never asks for anything, and this is compounded by the fact that we got married this year so we already got a lot of things to begin with. I know there are a couple of cd's I want to get her, and a nice sweater...but other than that I'm stuck. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks for the help everyone.

jewelry.
:)
My DH gave me a bracelet from Tiffany when he got home from a business trip to Las Vegas...what woman doesn't love that?

What about a gift certificate to where she gets her hair/nails done? (or to a spa for a massage...or a COUPLES massage? something you two can do together.)

For christmas the year DH and I got married...he gave me a premium annual pass to Walt Disney World...AND a trip the following month for my birthday.

Hope those ideas help some!

Please give us some clues about her interests.

Oh...I need to keep an eye on this thread so I can give my DH some ideas! He's pretty much in the same boat as CCTenor!! :)

She loves Broadway musicals, so I plan on getting her a couple of cd's of musicals she doesn't own. She's a professional harpist, loves dogs, loves to cook and bake. Danny Kaye(sp?) That's it! She love's Danny Kaye. I'm going to find a good movie of his and buy it for her. Ok, one down...actually two, I'm going to buy her a nice cashmere sweater this afternoon. Stinkerbelle, thanks for the idea on the message...I'm deffinately going to give her one of those.

Are you close to a major city where they would hold a musical or play or something? I would make a huge basket and in it put two tickets to the show, a gift certificate to her favorite restaurant, a nice outfit for her to wear during the show, and a nice little outfit for when you come home ;) The a bottle of wine and two wine glasses...

OK. I wish someone would tell my dh what I want!

Cool idea! Presentation can make a collection of gifts seem so much more impressive than they are if you were to give them separately. You could find a fairly inexpensive basket at Michaels or maybe even a dollar store. Get some colored filler material as a base inside the basket, arrange the items in it, and then wrap it, gathering the paper at the top with a nice bow!

Would she enjoy an iPod or any of its bazillion accessories?

Ooh, ooh, ooh. Did she watch the PBS three night series on Broadway last year? That is out on DVD. What is even better is the 5 CD set ("Broadway: the American Musical")! Put those in your changer and you hear the entire history of Broadway. It's fantastic!!!

Here'e the amazon.com link so you can see a picutre:

there is a great dvd "recording the producers- a musical romp with mel brooks". it is a behind the scenes look at how a broadway cast recording session goes. it features 14 recording session performances from the original broadway cast of "the producers". it also gives some great insight into what goes into a broadway production.

also do an amazon search on pbs' "best of broadway" series. they have done shows for decades that feature the original actors/actresses recreating their roles from great muscials (in fact danny kaye's wife-silvia i believe-was the coordinator of these many years ago and some of the older ones have him doing phenominal live performances).

if she likes a particular show running on broadway now-see if they have a website and you can order the official production t-shirt for her (my dh was thrilled to get a "producers" t-shirt even thought we never made it to the show).

she likes to cook huh? so does my dh. does she have a "clay pot"? these are great to cook with, and you can get a clay pot cookbook to go along with it. also, our local "gormet" grocery store does periodic special cooking classes (they pick a particular item or them and have a local chef instruct)-a gift certificate for one of these might be nice.

How about a Christmas ornament from the place where you honeymooned? I buy an ornament from every vacation destination and date it. When I decorate the tree each year, I relive all of those vacation memories. You could start a tradition.

Thanks for all the great ideas everyone. By reading all these replies, I had remembered back in Sept. I bought her two dvd's, both Lost Broadway. These dvd's have performances of famouse songs and scenes performed by the original cast members. The first one I gave her for her b-day. The second one, which I hid, and forgot about, I was to give her for Christmas. I also just bought the 3 dvd box set of The American Broadway that PBS did. Again, thanks for all the ideas.
