Help! I have bronchitis and am leaving soon!

I will try ANYTHING! I have been coughing for 2 1/2 weeks. I went to the doctor last Thursday and was diagnosed with bronchitis and given amoxicillin. 5 days later the coughing continues--to the point where I am exhausted and sometimes can't even speak. Normally I would say 1 1/2 weeks is plenty of time to recover (we leave on 10/28) but given how long this has lasted so far, I am starting to get worried.

My doc has assured me that bronchitis is not contagious, so we don't have to cancel the trip. But its just going to be me and my DD8 and I have to be well.

I am looking for any and all suggestions, home remedies, witch doctor recipes.....I'll try anything!

Have you tried Mucinex? I think you can get it over the counter. It really helped with my cough and congestion.
