HELP!I get VERY nauseous on Space Mt...

I have to personally disagree with this one. It really depends on which "motion" makes you sick.

Many people, myself included, feel ill on Space Mountain because it jerks you back and forth so much because it's such a rickety old coaster.

RnR, on the other hand, is a much newer coaster and rides much more smoothly - especially in the front. The first few rows are the most smooth (and since there are no big drops it's not scary like being in the front of most coasters). Plus, RnR is so short - the actual time "in the air" is only like 75 seconds.

If, on the other hand, just the forward motion of a roller coaster gets you, then yes, you will likely experience it on ANY coaster.

I honestly know many older people (parents, grandparents) who hate Space but will ride RnR. The motion on the rides is quite different.

I rode RnR 3 times, 2 times in the back and 1 in the front. It seemed that it was more rough in the front then in the back, especially during the flips!

the problem with RNR is the corkscrew at the end....anyone with motion sickness is usually taken out by the corkscrew ...

all you have to do is sit at the exit of RNR to figure out who's sick and who's not....the sick ones come off green (my daughter included)....i didn't go on it because i know never to go on anything that has a corkscrew like that...

and someone with severe motion sickness can take all the meclizine and bonine in the world and it won't help...

and yes i forgot to add mission space...a definite no no for anyone with motion sickness...

I just don't think it's that absolute. I get motion sickness on Star Tours, Mission:Space, even occasionally ToT - and anything that spins sends me to the bathroom. Last summer I got on a Tilt-A-Whirl at a local park and got more sick than I ever have over anything motion related in my life - a simple kiddy Tilt-A-Whirl and it put me down for at least an hour.

That said, I can (and do) ride RnR over and over and over and never feel a twinge.

As I said in my first post, it simply depends on what kind of motion makes you sick. Just not like everyone who has allergies has the same issues (I have a cat in my house sitting in my lap right now and I'm fine, but if someone brought me a bouquet of flowers I'd be sneezing up a storm - other people are the opposite), not everyone gets motion sick from the same thing.

I just think RnR is a wonderful ride, and that if Space Mountain bothers you RnR won't necessarily. Personally, I hate Space Mountain these days because it jerks you around so much and makes me queasy, yet, again, I could ride RnR indefinately. If you close your eyes, many people don't even feel the inversions. I've took my 50+y.o. DA on that ride last month and she ended up doing it twice - yet the motion of test track did her in!

I think giving a ride as cool as RnR a chance is a good idea - maybe do it at th end of a day in case it does make you feel ill so you can go back and sleep it off. Every ride is different, which is why I generally give them all a chance.

It depends on what you mean by "rough".

When I said rough, I was referring to the smoothness of the ride - in the front on RnR you don't tend to be shaken back and forth as much as in the rear. Shorter people tend to have an issue with that because their heads can bounce between the shoulder restraints. I'm taller so I can do either, but I generally prefer the front because I prefer the smoother ride. You also feel the speed more in the back, like most coasters. Even the launch seems tamer in the front and at times the ride feels almost slow.

Now, "rough in" terms of G-Forces, yes, the front is a bit more intense. I like that, but I also like the speed - so I can ride in either even though I prefer the front.

Again, however, this is like motion sickness - everyone is going to have a different experience, so you never know until you try it yourself.

The best homeopathic substance to take for motion (or morning) sickness is ginger capsules. They are readily available, inexpensive, and 100% natural. Barring any ginger allergy, they are the best thing since sliced bread. ;)
